New player question(s)...

Post by waters »

Hello, new player here! Just down loading the game as I type this post and excited about playing.

I want to make a character that is Kami friendly and looking for a guild that is mature and enjoys the 'hunt'...both killing mobs and other players(if need be).

Question: What are the various race's special skills? I know Matis excell in poisons, in later levels, but what about the other races?

THX...and c.u. in game!!!

Welcome to Ryzom waters! If you're looking to play a Kami friendly player you'll probably want to make a Fyros or Zorai toon since they are natrually Kami friendly.

As far as guilds go, there's some good one's, and a few bad one's, but some of the better, more helpful guilds you may want to consider are Ouroboros Nocturna, Atys Paladins or Atys Wayfarerers.

As far as racial abilities, they are currently limited to elementals spells starting at lvl 125 and are: Fyros=Fire, Zorai=Electricity, Matis=Poison,Tryker=Shockwave.

Good luck and see you in game! :)

Welcome to Ryzom, waters. Just a small clarification to Saranda's information - a character of any race can learn all four of the elemental spells she mentions, so your character generation will not affect which spells you can cast.

Have fun :)

Great replies! So, how hard would it be for a Fryos to learn electrical spells or poison spells once he gets past level 125? Also, since he is a Fryos could he learn as much in the electric or poison spell lines as the Zorai and Matis would be able to. Like could a Fryos master all the poison spells the same as the Matis could?

Also, at this stage of the game is there any NEED for a new player to start harvesting or crafting? I mean most items can br readily bought and traded for? Beside RP why bother with these 2 skill trees?

THX

P.S. I will look into these mentioned guilds once the download is complete.

I think for electric you have to stick yer fingers in a light socket, for poison you gotta drink some foul Samara's made brew, and for shockwave you have to jiggle a tryker.

No wait, I think you just have to be able to go to those lands and talk to the trainers :D

When you reach 125 a Fyros can travel to Zorai and learn the spell at the Zorai trainer. Thats all. The skill do not split by race. Everybody of any race can learn all spells.

I am probably wrong, but harvesting with or without crafting is the best way to earn some money. A certain amount of dappers is needet. Keep in mind that everything will decay. Nothing ingame is repairable. You also will grow out your equipment fast at the beginning. Therefore some dappers for new equipment is needed.

Highlevel equipment is quite expensive. I doubt a hunter can afford. Correct me someone if i am wrong.

Well, if you join a guild early everything can be relative ;) I guess most guilds keep good but used items for the next generation of members. If your guild is supplying you with armour and weapons/amps your will not need to dig and/or craft. The dappers from loot out of hunt then might be enough for the daily expenses.

Harvesting materials and selling them to the NPC merchants gets you quick money. So does quartering, but since quartering materials are usually Basic and you can easily harvest Choice mats from the ground (which are sold for more money)...
