Crazy Theories

Post by sunew »

A thread for all the crazy theories regarding Ryzom

1) Is Mar-duk, the dragon of Atys. I have never heard of The dragon and Mar-duk at the time so this may be possible, and both seem to a part of Atys.

2) is Jena a figure head created by the karavan to show a friendly or "trust able face" face to the Homins.

3) maybe it is not Jena, but J.E.N.A. -Jena could be a machine of some type that created Atys
J-
E- enity/ envoriment
N-
A- Atys
Maybe there are Frence or greece or latin words that fit in here.

4) the kami and Karavan could be off shoots of Homins. I heard on a show that part of us being morden day humans is balance between techonlogy and nature.
so maybe the Karavan are simply humans who rejected nature in favor of technology
and the kami rejected technology in favor of nature

the homins could be "normal humans" and maybe the Karavan/Kami are suffering from lack of either nature or technology and they need the homins to restore the balence between these two worlds

That's a fascinating theory...

EDIT: This is semi-related, but I thought the Kami were once homin and reached "Kamihood" somehow and took on other forms...?

Id posted somewhere, something similar about the homin interpretations of Jena and Ma-Duk.

Jena meaning Commander in Karavan-speak. Homins interprate the Karavan following Jena as being a god.

Ma-Duk being some sort of life-force that the kami worship, and again Homins see that as a god of Kami

and the goo ... are Jena's snot.

haha j/k

I also read this somewhere and I like this theory. The Kitins are actually creatures of Atys that help it grows, sorta like earthworms in your garden, and we homins are merely uninvited disease, harvesting and stripping off the planet resources.

And I've never seen Toshirô Mifune and Godzilla together either, but that don't mean either of them is Superman.

Sorry for not be clear I meant that in begining of the lore stories there was Jena and the dragon. Later on the dragon disappers and then Mar-duk shows up. I just thouht it was too convinet

Dragon = master/owner of Atys

Kami = insignificant vermin. ala cockroaches, slightly useful for cleaning up sap spillages etc.

Karavan = intruders. squatters

Homins = even more insignificant inhabitants that have been meddled with by the Karavan and the Kami for their own purposes.

so the Goo is an anti-Kami pesticide, and the Karavan are in terror of the Dragon noticing them and kicking them out on the street again. Hominkind may just get stepped on, or completely ignored.

Isnt it nice to know your place in the world :D

Some of the popular theories that have cropped up: (whether or not you think they're true is up to you, but personally I think they're as good an explanation as any :p )

- The Dragon is the spaceship Jena and the Karavan used to bring the homins to Atys (either on purpose or it crashed here en route to somewhere else) and its wreck can be seen in the Roots .

- The Kami are "evolved" homins; that is why there are more than one kind of kami, depending on which region you are in (ie. "Fyros Kami" for the desert etc). This also covers the "reach Kamihood" bits in the commandments of Ma-Duk.

- Jena and the Karavan are human. This explains the fact that the image of (we assume) Jena is obviously not a homin, and the quote by Elias Tryton that ends "I have faith in this, the new beginning of mankind" when all of the other quotes use "hominkind".

- Homins being (d)evolved/altered humans has been suggested both as part of the above theory and seperately, but doesn't really have any basis in lore (as far as I know) except the "new beginning of mankind" quote.

No, not actualy (d)evolved humans. The primitives show that there is an actual progression from them to us(the homins). But with the 'seeds' that are mentioned through out the stories, it sounds more like some humans came here(Atys), and either made some ape-like creatures, or just found them, and made them evolve in the same direction as humins have (less body hair, different muscaliture(sp?), more body fat, larger fore-brains, what have you)

The dragon being a space ship is an interest idea, but what if it was not a crashed spaceship, but instead a teraforming ship, and if we dig too deep, we accidentaly reactivate it, and it re-teraforms Atys, causeing the massive devistation that the Dragon is supposed to bring?

The goo theory is a toss up between a form of cancer, and if they used nanites to build the protiens for life, what would happen if a flaw developed in the programming of some of the nanites?

Just food for though. (no, bad thought, you get no desert)

The dragon is probably a kami overlord, and the kami probably evolved from the kitin.
Thats why I'm kami aligned, cause someday I'm getting me a Kiban mount.

Homin have always been there, thus the primitive tribes. The karavan are just an alien race that goes through the galaxy stripping planets of their resources, but Jena might want to destroy Atys cause the kami technology, magic, has potential and convenience than their technology, which requires vast resources to operate.
