Rumors go around about the best amps made. It is common knowledge everyone know. Maybe all the the cratfers who can make upto q 250 amps know all the reicpies for the best amps, but for someone who is just learning how to make amps, it is hard to find or get information. Shated knowledge is no longer shared, even if the crafters have quit crafting that specific article.

Why is this so??

People don't spread recipes around for the simple reason that it would make them redundant. Why be "the best" (for example) amp crafter on the server, and then go tell everyone how you did it?

ps. I only know one "best" recipe, and I got that because someone needed a "free" amp of higher Q than their guild crafter could make, so they gave me the mats

Where does one find information on amp making?

The best way to find out how to make the best amps is through experimentation. (beware, the pre-craft window and the post-crafted amp are usually different in stats. The closer to 100% in the pre-craft window, the less the difference).

FYI: Final Stat = (Pre Craft Stat x .8) + 20

"Choice precraft %" ("scale" after/till "some %"?) <>"excelent precraft %"<>"supreme precraft %"
Eg. To get value X in stat Y. i need over 80 "choice %", 80% "excelents" and less than 80 "supremes %", but max value is same, using any grade mats.
Works different for different craft items... (bug or feature?)

I think you will know a lot about amps when you reach lvl 200. This will just happen.
I dont know your levels and how free you can travel. Anyways, sooner or later you will have access to different mats and you will start to experiment with them.

The basics are that every amber has its own stats and will result in a different amp. The best amp i saw was a 97% in all. Another thing ist that you sometimes dont need such an amp. Amps for healing only or affliction only are easier to get the mats.

As other players have suggested, one of the pretty interesting ways to indentify formulas for items is to have several tokens and spend a while zapping and testing watching closely the numbers in the precraft window -- of course, easier said than done, how can you test vorkoo shafts if you can't kill it?. Honestly, there is no such thing as "best or skilled crafters", but "crafters who can have easy access to different mats, doing the actual combinations is not rocket science. You will likely not find the 100/100 elemental formula if you don't have madakoo eyes, for example --

It is a nice problem to know the final stats of an item if you know the stats of all the mats, and how exchanging some of them can lead you to a different result, the Ryzom crafting system is not trivial, but Challenging, I think Ballistic Mystix were trying to find the craft formula.

Finally, for magic amplifiers, there are several different formulas that can give more or less the same results, I think.
