Greetings everyone. I am new here to Ryzom, just registered 10 minuts ago so i just want to introduce myself.
I am 21 years old and live in Denmark, Arden. I have just finished the danish high school and is ready to continue to University.
A freind of mine that i meet through a local Live Roleplaying event in the northen part of Denmark, said that this was the place where real roleplay took place.
So here i am, i love roleplay with a good atmosphere! .. thats what im here for, im not here for the fighting nor for the intrigues.. i am here for the atmosphere of a magic world where people try to live a normal life, but where the constant threat of war between the higher powers, homins and kitins attack is a visible threat.
I hope that this is the right place for such a depressiv atmosphere.
i will be playing a Fyros, my freind told me that was the best way to start. His name will be "Hvidt". His family adviced him to come here so he could help build the Kingdom and thereby honoring his family and all the values that all Fyros respect and live by... but is that possible for a young Fyros like "Hvidt"? or will he dishonor his family by failing?
Hello fellow homins

Hi and welcome Hvidt.
We Fyros are harden warriors of the desert, but our inquisit nature and boldness has gotten us into trouble in the past. I also think we have a problem with authority, we sided with the Zorai and Kami just because we don't like the Karavan telling us we can't do this we can't do that. Ha lousy Karavan, you can't stop us.

Welcome
*wonders if he knows the "friend" you are talking about, since one of his guildies just came back from a live RP event in Denmark *

Get Gentle extraction 20. That will help prevent those nasty green clouds and loss of heart.ellefsen wrote:so.. now this will be my first question

Re: Hello fellow homins
not a great harvester myself, so may be able to avoid using the technobabble the experts use
When you commence harvesting, you will see a message saying "the source mode is" x . This actually is significant, as some source modes are prone to blowing up, and others die quickly, and some are less volatile, but when they do blow - cause massive damage..
anyway, source modes range from 0 to 5, and someone else can describe them , but on the newbie islands, sources have a more forgiving range of modes.. 10 to 15 ?? , which are less prone to dieing or exploding,( the source node equivalent of a suckling yubo)
once you are harvesting normal nodes, you have to trade off the risks of failing/killing the source/getting gassed or blown up, against the experience and materials you want to acquire.. more risk - better reward
the components of a harvesting action come in two types, gentle and aggressive, and gentle are slower, safer, and more difficult to use.
so to reduce the chance of a bad result, go with gentle actions if you can.
The ground stability action you have learnt doesnt go into your harvesting action, but is a separate action you can use - interrupting your harvest- to increase the explosion bars life and hopefully preventing it from going off. The other, more common use of this is in a team with another harvester.. one digs while the other uses the care actions to keep the source alive. You will gain another one which increases the source life bar some time too
For beginning harvesters, possibly the best way to gain xp.. if not actual experience.. is "care-planning" for a more experienced digger. They can explain what the modes are doing, and show you digging spots etc..

Hej Spriteh,
if that LARP-event was Khypris IV, then several SoR players were there, me included.

Thosam - Hunter of small defenseless animals, Forager near safe areas and Crafter of useless junk.
I hereby declare myself to be a Hominist. Ask me about my philosophy.
I survived Patch 1. I'm not so sure about Episode 2.
