Atm., you'll only be able to play together if both of you subscribe to the same community.
This means that either you'll have to go European or your friend has to go American. Account transfer might be implemented in the future, atm. it's not available. Also, if I remember it correctly, I wasn't given the possibility to sign on American and only had all Euro-choices. You'd need someone to check if you'd be able to sign into the Euro community first, just to make sure...

can anyone verify this? I am ready to go buy the game but if I cant play it with half my guild who are europeans I probably will skip it.

You can play on any community to pick. If your guild is on the European English servers, then just sign up for that community.

note: The community you pick will also be the community you receive support from so, please pick a community with a language you can understand. (getting support in German when you only speak English could be a problem.. grin)

I had my Beta Acc upgraded, which propably was the reason then...
I recall everybody say that it'll work depending on the community you choose...
