It's a similar error message that you get if you try to connect when the server is offline, yet according to the client and the website the server is up and running. Me thinks someone went wrong somewhere

And in case you all haven't noticed, it's always like this, like shrike put it: you can download the patch as soon as it lets you, but it won't let you in until they put the shard back up.

Just for future reference Bottom line: it's quite normal.
