Also... the kami must not have too much of a problem with the karavan, after all they allow crazy matis folk to wield magic.
You confuse matis with karavan. They are not one and the same.

Juse because my people believe that Jena is coming to save them, doesn't mean we all do.

If the kami didn't mind the karavan they would teach them magic.

If the harvester is careless, the source dissapears, if the harvester is too aggressive, the source explodes or emits a toxic vapor. These actions are Atys taking care of herself against depletion. Atys has no need for Kami thugs to murder Homins in her defense. There is no excuse for the Kami turning our foraging operations into killing fields, even if we are given warnings.
These things you describe are not the planet protecting itself. This is the planet healing itself, the planet being damaged by carelessness, etc.

What the kami do is prevent the planet from needing to heal itself by setting a limit on different areas. This limit is closely monitored, and you are given plenty of warning before they kill you.

And hows this, they even res you afterwood. Remember, if you damage the planet enough it will die - the kami damage you because they can save you AND stop you hurting the planet.

Kami Planet? It specifically stated Jena created Atys. She is the Life Giver of Atys. They value homin life over plants. As I said, we as homins can regulate ourselves enough to stop each other from exploiting. We are intelligent enough to understand that we damn ourselves if we over-exploit. We don't need to be killed by Kamis to understand this.
We are an integral part of the great design of Ma-Duk, the Life Giver that created Atys. We stand vigil over her natural resources to preserve the fragile balance, so that all homins may attain enlightenment in Kamihood one day.
......
For the life of our planet, for the spirit of your people, give praise to the Life Giver , choose the pathway to the eternal bliss of Ma-Duk!
And you used a bad analogy because the planet does not belong to the Kami. It is not their "food" to serve. It is Jena's and she sent the Karavan Guardians to guide us. Just because the Karavan do not kill homins who exploit their foraging lands does not immediately mean that they do not care for Atys.
About Karavan:
They are foreigners here, invading creatures come from afar to steal our resources, they care not a bit for the welfare of Atys.

If ya read the "Lore Overview" (http://www.ryzom.com/?page=lore_story_overview), it specifically states Jena as the Life Giver and the creator of Atys under the "First Appearance" (http://www.ryzom.com/?page=lore_story_first_appearance). Niether of those sources even mentions Ma-duk. lol

Yes, the Karavan were SENT...by Jena, the Creator. :)

Looks like we can speculate facts, while different sources giving different info..
So, atm we need "official confirmation": "Who is planet masters".. (Actually only some need to know, WE already know this)

No right have heretics, to mention a sacred name of the Creator!
Less power for mages!

Probably won't be "official confirmation" for awhile. The fact is the Duck (formally known as Ma-Duk but his name too sacred for me to say[/sarcasm]) was added later and never fully implemented in the lore. He's only really mentioned in the Mara Fragments but nothing in the Lore Story section (actually once under "The New Beginning" where he pops out of nowhere with no actual introduction. xD)

As for the Flanagan Files and Mara Fragments, the way it's written, one can easily notice it was written from their own perspective (as you can see both sides claiming 2 different entities who created Atys ). So, one must then rely on the Lore Story which greatly favors Jena, our Goddess.

Sad sad lies parroted by one of the decived...

What the Kami really do is murder those that do not obey the whims of thier life-stealing phantom-god. It should be clear to one and all that, while the karavan will show patient tolerence for those who stray, the Kami thugs will obliterate everyone who refuses to submit.

A prime example of a slave accepting the abuse from a master that he dare not defy. I sympathise with you, I really do. You have bargained your freedom away to these devils, and now you fear to stand up to them because they will smite you.
Those of us whom Jena protects have no such fears. We know the Kami enforcers will attack us at whim, and we know thier cowardly attack will be in such a way that we can not retailiate. The Kami will not bring us back from the dead once we have fallen, we must rely on the homins that have learned the magic art and have wrested it away from kami evil into service of the fellow homin.

OOC

I'm sure one of those Karavan in the Fount got me when I wasn't looking. I was standing beside them, went for a coffee and when I came back I was dead and they were looking awfully suspicious!

And you can't talk about the Kami in a walking-a-path/warning/death scenario. It's more like someone pointing a gun at the Kami and gently pulling the trigger. I don't like the Kami for exactly the same reason I don't like the Karavan. They don't tell you anything! One of the sides expects us to be entirely for the planet, the other, entirely for their goddess. None of them have asked us to be entirely for homins.

I believe that's a huge misconception. Both sides are for the planet (read First Appearance where it states: "Jena sent in her disciples, the Karavan Guardians, to establish the homins in different parts of the planet so that each race would have a role in its conservation."). Both oppose the goo. Both want homins on their side. Both helped homins during the Kitin War. The differences between them are the entities they worship (Kamis worship their insane Duck and Karavan worship Jena, our Goddess) and Karavan does not harm its followers while Kamis do. Karavan cherish homin life over plant life.

http://ryzom.com/?page=lore_higher_kami wrote:... Ma-Duk, the Life Giver that created Atys.

It is said, that Ma-Duk created Atys. Life Giver could mean, that he(/she/it ?) gives life to Atys.
http://ryzom.com/?page=lore_higher_karavan wrote:... Jena, the Goddess of Atys and Mother of Hominity.

It could be interpreted, that Jena gives life to the Homins. Goddess of Atys doesent say, that she created Atys.

Ps. The "Goddess" reminds me of something:
