Hi, is there a way to make the Quest System somehow easier ?
I just got over to Matis Mainland and i am supposed to do some quest to get the Knowloedge Thingy
Well, i took a quest that says the searched Person is in Majestic Garden.
(since its right on the Map, i tried to get an easy one)
Then i noticed that the whole big Area is called Majestic Garden and it seems that the searched Person could be pretty much everywhere.
So i spent now a hour searching around and died a couple times during that.
That way to describe Quests is not very Noob-Friendly and might make a lot of new Players leave.
So i wondered if there is a way to get additional Infos on the Locations of Quest People ?
PS: Someone in Game gave me a Webpage with a NPC Location Database but it aint all that Good coz for example on my Person it said its in Majestic Garden...doh
Thanks for your Help

Re: Quest System
I agree, finding NPCs and foraging mission mats is hard for old players too. Luckily we have site like http://www.ballisticmystix.com/index.jsp that shows NPC locations on map.
You should also note that some NPCs wander around and may be in different places depending on season.

Re: Quest System
First thing I do if I seek a NPC that is supposed to a be in a region, is to zoom the compass to 250m radius and pay attention to the light grey dots. Then is go to every light grey dot, to see if its the right NPC.pevec wrote: So i wondered if there is a way to get additional Infos on the Locations of Quest People ?
But be careful with groups of several light grey dots, the may be cutthroats.
If you need a general direction ask in region chat. Maybe a homin can help you with a direction.

/target <name> can help tell you if the npc is "in range" (which seems to work up to about 250m)thlau wrote:....zoom the compass to 250m radius and pay attention to the light grey dots. Then is go to every light grey dot, to see if its the right NPC.
Note :- Just using the first part of the name works. If you want to put the full name, enclose the name in quotes. (ie /target Apon, or /target "Apon Boethus" )
/target works the same for entities/mobs also

Re: Quest System
I've had great luck with this when hunting mobs and named mobs. But when using it on NPC's, the range seems a lot lower. I haven't done any formal tests, but it's more like 50m IMO. Except when I've already found them, then I can go 200m away and /target them successfully.ozric wrote:/target <name> can help tell you if the npc is "in range" (which seems to work up to about 250m)
