Cant Launch the game...

downloaded a free trial yesterday, installed on my wifes computer just fine, with my computer first time round, it just crashed every single time after the finaly agreement on the launcher before loading the game. without faile, crashed, couldnt do anything, so thought it must be my HD or something, so i formatted.

left it patching over night, finally finished about 10 minutes ago, now it says invalid check sum, relaunch application, i click to do so, nothing happens, game doesnt restart its self, i start it up manualy, i get the same as before and wants to restart. OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

everything else works just fine, installed a few other games, its just this one, and i really want to play it, or i wouldnt have formatted my HD and stayed up till the early hours, just to set it downloading.

going to try copying the direct install from my wifes PC now, see if i can get it to work that way, if i can get it working i'll reply... but is there any known issues with a possible fix?

that and despite chaning my game options, it still says its going to launch in 1024x768 and i cant change it from the log in, if i go into game options, it just seems to reset its self.

right now thats out the way with, i fixed it.

i've learnt my lesson. dont start formatting your PC at 2am, and dont then install software at 4am.

i'd installed the game to a networked folder (the folder the trial download was in, due to the odd choice of default folder).

anyway my fault, but next time, how about trying this as a defualt folder for a the game to install

What exactly did you do to make the game work properly? I have the same problem and don't understand what you said in the answer post you left...

Check that you have plenty of free space on your hard drive.

He said that he was running the game from a networked folder, rather than from a folder on a hard drive local to the computer. He placed the game files local to the computer and things worked.

I'm thinking that maybe you're running into a network related issue. If you have any firewall or filtering (virus, adware, spam, etc) software installed, try disabling it before starting up ryzom. However, be aware that you'll be exposing yourself if you are not behind a nat or firewalled router (i.e. do at your own risk, and very risky it might be). If it works, then you know the filtering software is causing problems.
