A question about level cap
Re: A question about level cap
Guys i'm a bit confused, do we get 250 for harvesting, craft, fight, magic and then have to split among this ENORMOUS amount of skills? Or is it 250 for each single branch on a tree? Please help i'm lost
Re: A question about level cap
Wanted to mention the same thing the skill tree on that page is the one from the first open beta. It has changes some since then.
My number was just a wild guess and not even a good one. But I would like to see a updated list of the skill tree if anyone can supply a complete one.
Here an example p46985 :
You get to lvl 21 crafting (its not 20 out of some obscure reasons).
Then the tree splits into armor, weapon, jewel, range crafting. These split several times again until lvl 250. So you can reach 250 in each of the different subtrees eventually.

Re: A question about level cap
The easy way to understand it is that EVERY action you do, that gives XP, has a final branch.
Eg crafting a light vest will give you XP in Master Craft Light vest.
When you start crafting you light vest, the tree is at its highest summary 'Craft'
As you become more experience, the skill tree becomes more focus.
At level 20 the craft tree splits in to Armour/Weapons/etc
So you light vest crafting progresses you further along the branches to you final destination 'Master Light Vest Crafter'
Same applies to the other skills - fight with a 2hd sword eventually you will reach 'Master 2hd Sword'
Think of it like this:
first 20 lvl - you are learning the basics about you career (craft/fight/magic/harvest)
20-50 - you focus more on one area of the career
50-100 - you are now getting really focused
100-150 - you are a specialist
150-200 - you are so focused that you can learn the fine detail of you subject within your career.
200+ - you know all there is to know, you can do it in your sleep. The hardest task seems easy to you!
Hope that helps

Re: A question about level cap
Skill points can be used to buy any skill within that career.
Any Fight SP gained can buy any fight skill
Any Craft SP gained can buy any craft skill
etc
The only exception to the rule is if you haven't started a career.
So if at character creation you did buy a start pack for Harvest, you can use 50 SP from another career to get you started.
Fight and magic are exceptional in that you don't NEED to buy a starter pack, it helps, but its not required.
For fight you need to kill something with a weapon or your fist.
For magic you need to kill something with a speel on an enchanted item.
Hope this helps
