Re: The Alliance/Council
The Silver Watch follows Jena. I am no longer sure whether the Karavan are truly Her representatives. The recent proclamation by Yrkanis shows that some kind of strange corruption is beginning to sicken Atys, and the Karavan themselves seem to be caught up in it.basicart wrote:Er... So The Silver Watch are no longer Karavan supoters Im guessing since it sounds like you do not intend to help them in any upcoming conflits how very sad, You have mostly abided by Jena ways yet in times of need you trun you back on her
Jena cares deeply for all homins; she won't stand behind a brutal war to destroy Atys. It is true that She works in mysterious ways, but that is all the more reason to question the motives of this war.

I got the impression it might be 'save us all' by killing large numbers of us! That hasn't seemed to have saved many people in the past.basicart wrote:But What if she is as said coming to save us all, will you not aid her?

They wish only to stop Ma-Duk thus saving hominkind, it is the foolish that will try and stop her wishes and indanger the rest of us.Tidings wrote: Ma-Duk wishes to preserve Atys for one purpose, maintaining his power. That power is failing,
the Goo devours him and the cure to his sickness? A devouring of his own, the souls and bodies of homin, foolishly loyal to him, drawn into him to stave off the sickness. Ma-Duk will become nothing more than a parasite, a bloated tick feeding on the lives of the homin. This is why Jena comes, to crush Ma-Duk before he takes your lives and souls!
Re: The Alliance/Council
So are we in danger from Ma-Duk at the moment?basicart wrote:They wish only to stop Ma-Duk thus saving hominkind, it is the foolish that will try and stop her wishes and indanger the rest of us.
I claim no special powers but I certainly don't feel any threat from that quarter. The followers of Ma-Duk have existed in Atys for some time and are yet to cause any threat to hominkind that I am aware of. Why are we in need of saving?
However i do agree that there is foolishness in the current events.
I believe most civilised homin are followers of Jena, but few of them will go to war in her name unless she herself commands it.

OOC: None of my player characters know these things, but I'm sure some Matis somewhere would make a statement along these lines, so I'm filling in for them .
We are not in danger from Ma-Duk at the moment, no. He has enough offerings to placate him for now. But the goo continues to grow, as does Ma-Duk's hunger. Soon, the offerings from his followers will not be enough and he will extend his hand out to take the souls of more and more homins, until we are no more.
The one thing to remember in all this is that the Dragon is still entombed in the heart of Atys, locked away. However, we do not know how entombed the Dragon really is. I do believe that recent events show a pattern.
The goo is a direct result of the poison released during The Fire of Coriolis, when the Dragon was stirred by the fool Fyros. From that point, the Dragon has been influencing Atys. Somehow, the Dragon has made claim to Ma-Duk, twisting what once may have been a sagely power. Now Ma-Duk turns in on himself, trying to fight the goo and the parasite tendrils of the Dragon. Ma-Duk has gone mad. He will continue to consume the bodies and souls of homin and animal alike until he has been consumed, himself, by the Dragon.
We have no choice but to stop him. And with the benevolence of Jena, as always, we will prevail!

A war is coming, peace is not an option. If you side with neither you become a victim of both sides atrocities, and will be the loser at the end, who ever wins.
To turn your back on Kami and Karavan is to spit in there eyes in a most ungrateful fashion, afterall it is they who resurrect you to their alters when you have fallen. if you do not follow either of their ways then that privilage will no doubt be removed, and you will die to the 'immortal' followers of the war parties. And in regard to your skills how many of you are trained in war, i suspect all of you, whether supplying materials, crafting arms and armour, or skill with weapon or amp. You are all part of a war machine, you have no skill in cooking or raising families, or pottery, or construction, or farming. No you are an army in training since your schooling on the refugee islands.
