Attributes

Post by neofit26 »

Hi.

Can we have some real information on the attributes? The manual is empty and the in-game info is no big help either.

For instance, Endurance raises HP as per the in-game data. Is that all? Does it affect anything else? Does Dexterity affect Harvesting and Crafting success or quality? If not, why do Harvesting and Crafting trainers offer training in Dex? Why should I raise STR - only to increase the corresponding gauge? It does not increase the carrying capacity, but does it affect damage, and to what extent?

I'd like to have this kind of information for all the attributes. It's not like we have an unlimited supply of skill points, nor did I find an option to unlearn something.

Thanks.

The corresponding attribute is the regeneration of that attribute, hence raising strength and balance will raise your overall strength and the regeneration of that attribute.

I hope this explains a little towards the issue you have

Well Here it goes:

The stats are made up of colour drops that you exchange skillpoints for at trainers to buy HP (Red), Sap (Green), Stamina (Lilac) and Character Focus (Blue).

Each stat has 2 parts Amount and Regeneration, I have labled these to make it easy A=Amount R=Regeneration

Health - Constitution (A), Metabolism (R)
Sap (mana) - Intelligence (A), Wisdom (R)
Stamina - Strength (A), Balance (R)
Focus - Dexterity (A), Will (R)

Its very simple you need A for higher amounts and you need R for a faster regeneration of that stat, sitting doubles the regeneration rate e.g. 350 sap = 35 Intelligence, and if you have bought corresponding Wisdom each time you raised your sap then your regeneration normally would be 35 but if you sit it should be 70.

I hope this has answered some fundamental questions for new players in understanding what the stats are and how they are made up.

Raising STR- Not only will it give you more base stamina, as Wolfstar mentioned above, but it will enable you to use a higher Quality weapon. If you check the info screen on a weapon you will see a strength requirement. This is always 10 less than the Quality of weapon you can equip. So for instance, to use a Q 50 weapon, you will need to have STR 40.
Similarly, there is a requirement for wearing Armour (constitution) and for using Magician Staffs (intelligence).
(Dexterity may be a requirement for using higher quality picks to harvest, but i havent seen this feature yet and am not sure if it is ingame atm)

Thank you Wolfstar and Ozric.

So I take it that the only effects that the attributes have are those we see on the Character screen (i.e. increase the corresponding enegry pool) and to mitigate the limitations on items? Nothing else? Like STR giving a bonus to damage, DEX giving a bonus to hit, INT giving a bonus vs magic attacks (these shooki hit hard :) ), etc.

This might help prioritize skill points allocation. Thanks.

They do, but indirectly.

The game is made up of "actions". You can choose different "stanzas" to build these actions, such as "extraction plan 1", "increase damage" or "bomb effect". These "stanzas" have a cost. This cost is paid off by using other "stanzas", such as "sap 5" or "stamina 2". These use up your attributes such as stamina, sap, health and focus.

The upgrades to your character such as "Strength" or "Wisdom" then go to giving you an increase in these attributes or faster regeneration of them. This allows you to use more powerful actions more often, so, in effect, they give you a "damage boost".

Hope this helps :)
