No "Create New" button on char select

Post by neemis »

Sorry for the repost, but I put this up on the questions board by mistake.

Got Ryzom to install and patch fine but the character select screen only shows 3.5 of the char boxes on the left and there is no Create New button on the bottom of the screen. I canot get it to come up in full screen mode and at this point cannot continue. Any help would be appreciated.

That's bizzare. Sounds like the window is too big for your screen. I wonder if it is some kind of resolution issue, or if that is even possible? Have you checked in config to make sure that the selected resolution matches your system's resolution. I'm not a real tech guy, but this is just what comes to my mind.

What's your screen resolution at?, i have ming pumped pretty high in windows and that entry screen act's funny, like if ya have the tool bar set as always ontop it'll come up ontop of that. Never opens centered i have to click the expand window button real quick at the Nevex screen, so check that stuff out. If your screen resolution is really low on windows try nocking it up to like 1020 or so and then see if you can see the rest of the window. B/c that's all that entry screen is is a window's window, it's not a seperate program like the game itself.

This happened to me, but not until I was actually in the game. What's happened, as best I understand it (Not a techie), is that the game is running in a different resolution to your standard setting. This means it only displays the upper-left of the screen. Took me awhile to figure it out, and also when I did I discovered that a lot of my boxes had been missing off-screen.

Anyway, to remedy it, I went to the options screen and played with the resolutions and screen options. I originally was just trying to make it look nicer, and I don't remember exactly what I did except up res. Hope that was of some use, at least...
