King Of The Nexus
Due to discussion regarding the Nexus, lack of Events, and PvP, I have decided to propose an event called King of the Nexus. This event will be similar to the game King of the Hill, where there will be one king, and challengers will try to conquer the Nexus by killing in the Nexus the reigning king. The KON will wear the following title in his/her sig on the forums.
*King Of The Nexus
To make this interesting I think there should be a bounty awarded to players who successfully kill the king following the rules set up. This will be 150k given from the reigning king, to his successor. But if the challenger fails, and is killed by the defending King, then the challenger must pay a fine of 200k to the king.
Rules:
1. Challenges are only valid inside the Nexus.
2. Competition stops outside of Nexus.
3. All trained skills are applicable, regardless of opposing players level.
4. Nobody may add the KON title to their sig without official victory of current King.
5. All races are eligible.
6. Guild relationship and status are of no importance. (If I kill the KON my guild is in no way related nor responsible.)
7. King must reign for minimum of 12 hours (real time), as to avoid constant back and forth.
8. King must visit Nexus regularly, if not seen for 3 consecutive days, Kingship will be chosen randomly from the group of eligible players desiring position. (using the /random chat feature)
9. Team size is a maximum of 2 players, but note that only one will wear the title, which person will be the team leader.
10. Bounty must be paid at moment of succession, 150k to the team leader from the prior King, and if attack fails, 200k must be given from team leader to the King.
11. If any rules are broken, challenge is void.
12. Mature players only.
13. Fauna, Herbis, and Carnis may be used to your advantage.
14. Contest begins once an attack has been made by a player, either King or Challenger, on the oposing player.
15. Death outside of contest, does not change the King's status.
16. Once Contest has been started, it will last for 1 hour max, and during that time the King may not leave the Nexus.
17. If the King's game crashes during battle, the challenger wins Kingship. This is to avoid crashing on purpose.
18. The first opposing team to initiate battle with King must win or lose before another team can challenge.
19. If the King attacks someone who is not contending, that is just in the Nexus for personal reasons, King recieves no reward. Unless that player fights back, then it becomes official.
20. Only players that know about the contest apply. If non-challengers are killed by King, and they do not fight back, King MUST rez on site. (may affect #19)
19. Rules can only be added or changed on this original and 1st post.
All hail the mighty and fearless:
King Noin of The Nexus
Note: *When you vanquish the current King, please send me a Private Message on this forum so I can place your name in it's rightful place. I am Thom.
DO NOT POST IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH THIS EVENT.
King Of The Nexus Event... has begun.

This actually sounds like fun as long as people don't get personal. Might actually join in on this. >.>

Re: King Of The Nexus
I think king of Nexus should be master agains local fauna too as that is quite integral part of Nexus. Maybe king can select place where he is and contenders must reach that position

Good Idea. But the downside is that this would take away from sneak attacks. I like the idea of an asassination.

I'd love it if you could actually get this idea off the ground. Just one thing I disagree with:
With this rule in place, it'll be just like any PvP fight: the highest level person/team always wins, and the contester and the king might as well fight eachother in the arena, rather than in the Nexus. In my opinion, once a challenge is made, the king shouldn't be forced to come forth and engage in a duel with the challenger. Instead the challenger should have to hunt the king down in the Nexus. The king may use whatever means to stay alive, except for leaving the Nexus. He may choose to attack the challenger head on, to hide in a corner of the Nexus, to take up position surrounded by aggro, to lay in ambush and nuke the challenger down by suprise, to run around like a maniac, whatever he wants. This way knowledge of the Nexus and experience with dodging agro would play a large part too.

very good point. I'll change it.
And the only way this will get off the ground is if we can get a handful of players who want to start it, then other will join.

I kinda agree with this too. Aggro is a massive part of the nexus. Whats to stop a king from gettin themselves aggro'd during the duel to keep the title? Its a lame way to keep it, but according to the rules, it allows him to keep it.
Ps. Bah... you replied while I was writing this!!
I'd also love to see this spread to other PvP areas if this takes off. King/Queen of EF, GoO, ToT, WG, etc.

Re: King Of The Nexus
But thinking about it some more, my suggestion does generate some problems:
Obviously, if a challenger kills the king, the challenger wins the challenge. And if the king kills the challenger, the king wins. But what if the king decides to hide rather then fight? As long as the challenger does not find and kill him, he remains king ofcourse. But if the challenger dies from aggro while hunting down the king, does that means he lost the challenge? And what if the king dies from aggro while a challenger is hunting him, does that mean the challenger wins? If so, we could have situations where a king dies from aggro while a challenger is looking for him on the other side of the Nexus, and the challenger wins without doing anything. But if not, the king could avoid loosing by throwing himself onto a cuttler at the last second.
Pfff, this is more difficult than I thought...

Re: King Of The Nexus
Well, that means there needs to be some "witnesses" in case of the King getting intentional aggro. I can understand if 2 are duking it out in GoO and a vorax decides to join in. lol
