Bye

Post by predzz »

Not sure how much of you still remember me, i think 90% of the older, core players have gone inactive or have just quit, and I'm not online often enough in order to get to know anyone new well enough. If you don't know me (Acamp) my perhaps my biggest 'achievement' was first ql 250 armor maker, or one of the first (5 March 05). Besides that I've been in guild Evolution (long time ago) and am currently in Elementals of Atys.

I'm leaving too. It has nothing to do with this event lately, though. Because of exams starting now and vacation afterwards, I won't be playing untill August or later. If I return still depends on some factors ofcourse.

Myself I haven't been online much, partially due to IRL stuff, partially just losing interest. I've had my big share of Ryzom in the first couple of months. However after reaching a stage at which i was happy with my achievements and had no longer any real goals when it comes to lvling / grinding, and after doing most/all of the worthwhile missions/rites, I felt there wasn't much left to do. Sure there's lots of things to do, but in the end they would just be repeating something i had already done in the past.

These new additions, like outposts, are ...well... additions. I think maybe they could increase daily/weekly game time by 10% or so. I can't imagine outposts keeping u busy all the time, more like just a few hours a week, when you are attacking or defending one. The game still evolves about leveling your character.

Anyhow I don't want to discourage new players: there's a huge world and many things left for you to explore, and luckily for you, by the time things get ... repetitive, new content will be added.

Some words to the wise:
1. There is no such thing as a large online (mmorpg) community which is (mainly) "nice", might wanna think about that when you're, for example, boosting Ryzom's rating on MMORPG.com.
2. Do yourself a favor and don't powerlvl. The slower you take things the longer your game experience lasts. Also, try to take as many with you in the group when hunting (but not too much, 3-6 is ideal). While an elem + healer 2-man team is probably the most efficient, you won't be doing anyone any good except for yourself and 1 other person. Later you'll be begging people to help you lvl afliction or melee as well. :p
3. Aaaah, errr, just read my previous posts. :p

Wish you all the best and have a nice stay on Atys ;)

Acamp, over and out

PS: My subscription ends tomorrow so I won't be able to respond after that, but i'll keep checking out how Ryzom fares. :)

*sobs in the corner*

You were one of the people in ryzom i have alot of respect for and altho i could see this day comming dosnt make it any easier.

I have had alot of great memories of all the cool stuff we have done together in EoA, and i can only wish you loads and loads of luck in your exams (your gunna need it with all the time you spent on ryzom during the year ;) ) and to have a great life.

Hopefully you may reconsider, its sad to see you go.

Don't think I ever have the pleasure of meeting you, but that's a great goodbye post :)

Especially advice numero 2. I am taking that one to heart.
