I remember saying my farewells to you when you decided to quit another time. But it seems, with the deletion of your character, you're dead set on it this time around.

Raynes, I don't know what to tell you. The event was such a non-event that all this ranting seems incredibly comical. We showed up at a spot, got teleported to a top of a mountain and were given an ominous warning. If I could see the future I wouldn't have showed up.

Most of us agree that high level content is not that great in this game. An event like this was geared toward the high level players and I say more power to them. But, and this is a big but, they need to balance it out with public events as well. Like someone mentioned earlier just think what the response would have been from the general public that attended a story event where we just stood around and listened to some event coordinators for 30 mins. Not going out to hunt something or escorting someone? Just sitting and listening? There'd be more complaints than just yours. In fact I remember a similar complaint from you when there was a certain reading of Kami scripture in the past. I think the role-play at the event was good and the after affects were even greater. Even I admit to unknowingly twisting what they said, that just adds spice.

I'm far from being a Nevrax fan boy, I actually think they've made some terrible decisions and implementations in the past. Ask my guild mates how often I've logged on in the last month and the evidence should be apparent. It's not that I don't like this game but there comes a point where you find that there isn't much to do that doesn't seem repetitive. An event like this is exactly what I wanted from being a high lvl player and being recognized for my part in previous events. The end result was unfortunately not enough umph for my liking but that’s another complaint. It definitely is continuity and is an essential part of interactive story telling. Kudos to them and I hope they do more public and private events.

Hope where ever you land goes well for you.

However, where you would be demanding to get what you, as a customer, paid for and promised to, others just let it slip and try to enjoy what's there at the time. Others then again just go inactive or quit. I believe you are the "extreme" version of what many other older players (who are also getting "less interested" in the game) are thinking, you could call it sort of a spokesperson.

Ah raynes... don't think I've met you ingame before, shame, though I've seen you on the forums more than enough. ;) Take care anyway.

On the topic of this event: I'm not sure what to feel here. In the end we all pay the same amount of money and are entitled to the same kind of treatment, besides in this case it doesn't seem like invitations were random at all, but chosen. I like the idea of a secret meeting, the execution of this idea could have been better, though. While from reading who here got an invitation, i know these are fairly honorable homins. Yet I'm sure some will feel left out and might be scared this 'information' could be used against them or for those that attended the meeting, in their advantage. It remains to be seen what happens, it's too early to make conclusions. :)

edit: put my goodbye post in a new topic after all, this one is just gonna end in flaming :p

Although we didnt speak much ingame acamp, i wish you all the best.

I agree that having exclusive events like this is a bad idea. Could I think of a better way to have done this? No, but i'm not payed to do that, the deves are.
We do have a chat log build into this game, did anyone start one? It would be nice if people could post chat logs from events so others that can't make it could read them.

If I did not read this forum, I would have never know about this event. I'm not part of a big guild and don't talk to a lot of people. You could say I'm a little shy. I was wondering what the MODT(Welcome to Arispotle, after the rumours and the uncertainty, the world awaits some word from the powers that guide us...) for today was talking about, now I know. I asked and no one would tell me. So do people like me just get left out?

I have tried my hardest to tell everyone i bump into about this. yet keep in mind that it has only been 24hrs since this meeting took place.

I dont think its anyone's intention to keep anyone left out of this... It's just that for rumours spread by word of mouth, it really adds a great affect to the story cos it gets twisted here and there and gets exciting.

Im sure you would have heard about this before the main events start to kick in

Raynes... Liquado doesn't play anymore. Shoulda given me the leader title. :) No real difference though, since I'll probably find myself a new guild. Nevertheless, you were a great guy to be around and the KoK would've been an awesome presence in this game if KoK would've managed to stay together.

I can't say I share your anger about the event and its lack of publicity, but that's largely due to the fact that I haven't participated in one single event since I created any of my characters. I do share your view of the event, but I can also understand everyone elses view as well. I would rather have you stay here and help this game grow, but since you've already taken your bow, I'll just bid you a fond farewell.

And hey, look. Everyone here describing Raynes as childish is, in their own rite, little children as well. Unless this man has caused you pain and suffering, then there's no reason to insult him. Disagreeing has never implied insulting, and the only place where there is an exception to that rule is in elementary school. If Raynes is truly childish, than I think there's a few other people on this thread who need to grow up too. Myself included, more'n likely.

I'm going to just say it flat out - go ahead and quit in a huff if you want to, but you shoud know that you're being short-sighted.

It never occured to you that the reason for the invite-based event would be to get players involved in spreading the word to the rest of the people, I take it. Instead of having an event that's solely a talking head saying something and players skipping out on a scavenger hunt, maybe the idea was to actually get us all involved on a level more than just that of consumer.

Maybe that event wasn't just a single, stand-alone occurance, but maybe just the start of something bigger and more complex. Maybe it was something better thought out than a meeting in a clubhouse with a sign on the door that says 'No girls allowed'.

i have to say i agree with raynes on this one :x i myself was in both groups that saved the agents and i never even got invited to hear the big secret next time the agents can stay in the roots till the karavan come kill them for all i care ;P

also if there had been another event this weekend i think that would make it alot less worse than it is ;P whole weekend and the only sniff of an event was held for a handfull of people? no wonder some people arent so happy ;P

Wow ! I love this thread!

I cannot remember having so much fun reading threads before the shards were merged ;)

About the events. I missed quite some Tear of the Kitin events. Most of I was not around when they happened, or I was doing something else when I was online. At one time I was in Yrkanis at the right moment, so I walked along and it was a nice event. As were most of the other events I have been too.

One thing I noted during these events is that i keep meeting the same players at these events. I got the impression these were the players that liked the roleplay of the story and liked to be involved in the event one way or the other.

So what is wrong about inviting the core of this group for a 'secret' meeting? Ok, if this gets standard and this group gets private kitin invasions, we are talking about something else..
I also missed all events Dagger has organized. Should I be angry now at Dagger that he didnt remind me personally? Or should I be angry at him that he organizes his events for a certain group of players?
No, I dont think so, next time I will just try harder to make it to one of his events...

Just enjoy the rumours that have started because of this meeting, and look what will come of it!

grimjim has uncommon sense.

(You see, common sense isn't common, therefore it's really uncommon sense.)
