game keeps freezing heellllppp meeee

hi new to ryzom and i cant play it because everytime i load it up everything is fine until after i selected which char i want to use then it goes to the loading screen where progress is shown at the bottom which takes ages to load then when it has it keeps freezing and a little box comes up with please wait which seem to denote disconnected this happens all the time which makes playing impossible my pc is xp home edition with sp2 a nvidia geforce 2 mx/mx400 graphics card any tips on how to help me or how to find out what is wrong greatly appriciated

i know a few of my guildies have had problems with Linksys routers

tried that still no joy but it dont seem to be just ryzom it seems to be most games i play online even the simple mmorpg that you can download for free will keep trying i mean my pc aint that slow i am using ntl broadband 1 mb connection got avg anti virus and am using windows firewall

Look in the second item of the Network FAQ where it explains how to set up the game port in Windows SP2 firewall. Make sure that one port is forwarded through your router too.

i also get the message driver failed to allocate agp memory and i dont have a router my broadband modem is connected straight to pc

Make sure to take out your current video drivers, restart and install the video drivers again (preferably updated ones that you found before starting this process.)

Run the configure.bat thing in th eRyzom folder and disable all of the advanced graphics stuff including AGP. Lower all of the regular display settings to low, as your video card will have a hard time keeping up otherwise.

GeForce 2, especially the MX stuff, is pretty well at the bottom end of what this game will run on, let alone play on. You will find things very jerky.

think i am gonna get a better graphics card dont know when as money is very tight at minute ne recomendations as what graphics cards are best value for money and where can i get one
