Dude, most agreed that solo is too hard in higher lvls and it should be made more viable.

I think you should read again, it is hard, not ruining the social aspect.

Have you every considered soloing in populated areas?

Lets say I am a 95 melee and this is the skill I want to level at THAT EXACT MOMENT!

Now let me think ....

Oh I know I where should I go....

Err Fair Haven? - nope mobs too easy or only give 2xp.
Err Dew Drops? - bit quiet here, mobs I need to fight are the top end ones and the hit hard. Oh and what if I die, there is no one around.

Arh I will go to the Fount! - The mobs are a bit too tough for bit if I stick to 1 stars I should be ok, but I an going to be on half strength at the end of it.

So I port to the Fount....

Neun say: Hello Fount type peeps, hows the digging going.
10x Player replys about general stuff.

Arh so there are people here... *Grin*

Gets out sword *Wider Grin*

Notices a Harvester in a gas cloud....

Chucks a random, fly by heal at Harvester.

Brief exchange of ty & np :D

Hits a 1 star mob....
longish fight, but I am solo so I expect this. 1500xp and half health :D perfect!

Looks around to see where everyone else is and what they are doing.

Takes out pick and cares for a digger (Not in their team, YES NO XP).

I have found 9 times in 10 they will throw me a heal.

Oh I am back at full health!

Finds another mob to kill. +1500xp

Healers a team's healer, while they are hunting.

They heal in return ... people are like that you know!

Finds another mob to kill. +1500xp

Real life calls - sits and deals with RL!

Oh I am on full health again.

Finds another mob to kill. DEAD

Calls for a rez, nicely. (There are at least 10 people and you know roughly where they are and 1 or more of them comes and rez's you.)

Finish off mob +1500xp

Hopefully by now you have got my point!

I am solo but I am in the LARGEST team.

I am willing to do stuff that will get me no XP (Caring out of team, healing another team, rezing others). In return you will find that others will do the same. Because you are 'solo' you can stop and start when you like and deal with RL. Because you in a 'Popular' area, people will come and go .... but unless its a silly time of day/night there will always be someone else.

I have found that the best hunting teams have formed this way and some of my best hunts have started with me soloing in an area and joining up with other 'soloers'. Now, because you are 'soloers' if you have to go afk the team members adjust to that and continue till you return.

Its very very very rare that the team I start with is the same team at the end of the hunt!

I will invite most people who ask and when people leave we adjust to the new team.

So to keep this on the solo topic...

Its very very very easy to solo in Ryzom!

You just need to do it where there are others around you that you are willing to help, for free (no xp or reward). Strangely enough, you will find that they are very willing to help you for free in return.

eh i know neun was sleeping but you havnt really become that behind on current issues have you? most games you can solo for 18 hours at a time without having to rest at any lvl ryzom you can solo 1 mob then have to sit and regen for 20 mins b4 the next that is not very very very easy soloing... and having someone nearby to heal you who isnt teamed also isnt soloing your still relying on someone else

we should still have the option to be able to play this game alone wether we want to or not as there simply isnt a big enough player base for us to be forced in to a team try a /who right now and tell me how many people you see ;) heres my current /who

4 people in tryker nice :) if i was forced to party with them id prob kill there exp or they might be partied alrdy and not want me to kill exp.... or they may not even like me cause i speak my mind on here...... its really not as easy to get a team as nevrax thinks and its really not good to be forced to go round the world typing /who to find a party :)

bring back the solo element to ryzom and maybe we will get more players

ok what about this for example.... im a hardcore roleplayer and i want to RP a char which hates everyone and wants to kill them all how can i lvl past a certain lvl in ryzom? without breaking RP and loving someone long enough for them to heal me or team with me? ;) just doesnt work does it =/

i dont hate everyone btw and want to kill you all :) it is just an example how forcing people to team isnt right for everyone

ive been online for 2 hours searching for a team to lvl my melee now =/ who said it was easy to find a team?

I stood at the GoC tp for 10 mins .... there was only 2 other people at the TP.

I was hunting with one of these people after that 10 mins. Wonder if people are fussy about who they team with :rolleyes:

OK, I have another ideea. What about placing the xp cap in other way? I mean the message "killing x was too easy you wont get any xp" to be removed and get at least 1 xp point even you kill a sucking yubo at level 250 fight. What do you think, guys?

C´mon be serious. You *are* right, soloing is painful. But you know this since your 2nd week on Atys. Would you really like to have "red potion" in Ryzom ?

Anyway, it is not impossibel to solo on Atys. Chosing the right opponent, adjusting your stanzas and use your regeneration wise. Then you can solo.

Lets face some basic facts here.

If I can solo (effectively) I don't need to play with others.
If I can solo (effectively) and I team with others, the team is going to be much more effective than the 'new improved' soloer.

The 'new improved' soloer is back at the same position. Teaming > Solo

So the cycle begins again.

/blunt mode

If real-life stops you playing a 'team game', you need to find a 'non-team' game that has a pause button.

(No I am not saying leave, when my play time was limited to 2hrs max per day I still found ways to team and solo and have fun)

/blunt mode off

/soft mode

It a problem that appears in all multi-player games. Soloers have to settle for 'easy kills' with lower xp than a team. If you make the individual stonger you make a group of individuals much stronger.

If I get more XP from a mob because I am not in a team, than I get in a team.
Why should I team?
Why would I need a healer?
Why would I need an afflictor?


If everything can be beaten by an individual, then there would be nothing of real chalange in the game.

/soft mode off

Conclusion :

Change the game to suit the soloer, or change the soloer to suit the game.

One takes Nevrax time and effects everyone, the other takes your time and effects only you.

lol why would we need a pause button? we have to sit for 20 mins after a mob to get the hp and stam back because the credits are so enormous and without a healer you cant lvl efficiantly

i managed to find a healer 2 times in GoC just after the 2 hour 20 min mark

but i shouldnt have to look for a healer i have enough healing magic i should be able to heal myself simple =/

and all normal mobs should be able to be killed solo if they are around your lvl only bosses should be different
