go play Guild Wars, youll get bored of it in a few weeks if you are like most gamers, then you will come back and there will be a new patch up

i think that you have to play the game because you enjoy playing it in it's current state. To hang around not enjoying yourself, waiting for some planned new feature and getting frustrated when it's put back must be a very painful experience.

hehe i left the game 5 months ago because i didnt like the game in its current state i came back 5 months later and its still in the same state as i left it so what should i do? leave for another 5 months but cancle my sub this time instead of paying 5 months and getting no content still when returning? =/

As for the events maintaing players interests. I think it just doesn't work. With the merger of Windy to Aris, I was excited to see the events that we'd all been missing. The first one I attended was the meeting in Fairhaven regarding "evil twins". While it did give a bit of story, it was essentially the same as any mission in the game. Go here, read this story, trek here, more story, kill that, a bit more story. However, at the end of a mission or rite, I am at least given something in return for my actions. With this event and many others, I received nothing. And was left really disappointed in what could have happened or the way they could have improved the event.

The first event I ever experienced was of NPCs attacking Pyr. I have no clue what the event was for or even why they were attacking (since I had only just made my transition to the mainland, etc.) but that stuck me as one of the coolest events yet. There was a post up earlier that had a scan of the back of the Ryzom box (and yes, Fyrx, I'm mentioning the box) that shows a massive army invading Thesos. While the army shown looks like suicide to me, I think it would be cool have the kitin do such things. Since we're talking of more story, what happened to the kitin invasions? They did almost kill us all off. So why are they not continuing to do so? They're now content to hang around the cities, but not actually do anything to them? Seems a tad odd to me.

Anyway, I agree that more content needs to be added. Its nice to hear of what the teams working on, but when its 2,3, even 6 months away from being released, then I'd rather not know until it was much closer. Outposts have been similar to someone chasing the sun... "its just over the next ridge.... its just over the next ridge... oh look! its on the horizon! almost there!"

As for the whining (and the whiners of the whining). I already stated my view on this in another post, but I'll bring it up here again. You're both of the same group. If either of you didn't like the game, you wouldn't be here. many of come and gone, others stayed since they enjoy the game and wish to see it become great. Its simply a different means of expression. Its also become obvious that whining about the whining doesn't work and is not constructive criticism. Jyudas has the right idea in actually contradicting the points brought up with other points. Simply going "boo hoo another whiner" does nothing.

yes i do think if people say something it will bring the content faster or atleast get some content -.-

if we all sit here and say nothing they wiil think we are over joyed with the game and say "hey lets not add anything no one seems to be complaining so we must have hit the 1 thing that other mmo's have failed to do..." there is always complaints on any mmo's forum deal with it -.- or find a game thats perfect so no one has to complain

You can't expect to be told a definitive 'when' on that stuff IMO.

Working in gaming industry myself, we often say this "The difference between a professionnal and amateur gaming company is a profesionnal gaming company will give you ETA but wont respect it, and an amateur gaming industry will never give you an ETA and will never finish what was planned".

Of course, we canot expect Nevrax to be as big as SOE, but honestly, is it an excuse, like ignorance could be an excuse, of course not ! Its not because Nevrax is smaller than SOE that it has to be an excuse because game is half finished and all the other things planned for the game originaly are not implemented yet, argue about it as long as you want, its a fact.

About the GW stuff, Yes, GW is not as immersive has Ryzom could be (yes, i say could, and not can), but at least, when i log ingame, i can find a group and play, why i paused ryzom for GW ? Not really because its half finished, but because when i log on, im having a hard time to play a group to play with people (even if i go into HG or Void).

Thanx for putting it in what it ultimately means to us all. We can discuss, bring up, complain or what ever we want to term it. if something is not done we will find ourselves in this position all the time. Unable to find a group to hunt, do missions or whatever we enjoy doing. we will simply become diggers as its about the only thing you can do solo. is there a point to an mmo and being on your own without ppl to team with if we choose to....This is about SAVING THE GAME. Many still have subscription but do not log on. At some stage they will say enough is enough and stop subscription....then it will no longer be financially viable to keep it going for few ppl because they are devoted to the game.....the game needs numbers and lack of content will not give us that....

I'd rather be hedged than bold-faced lied to.

As to what's missing... outposts. That's it. Everything else is promises since. Though I think some people are confusing the original _vision_ of the game with what has been filtered through by the demands of reality.
