Ok I really like this game, it was supposed to just be filler, but I've changed my tune. Heres the thing, come January or so theres gonna 4 MMOs that I'm gonna have, only 2 of them can be active at any one time due to cash and time resources. Now I noticed at install that if I deactivate my account I have a small grace period, and then the account goes bye bye and I'd have to rebuy the game in order to reactivate. Now I don't mind if my characters get erased, but this seems kinda harsh.
My question is this...
Do I have my facts straight, and is there any chance of this policy changing?

From my understanding, after the grace period of not having your acct active. Just the characters get erased. If you come back after the acct can still be used just have to start from square one. All mmo's have had this to my knowledge, just not all of them actually follow it (eq being one, at least way back when it was like this).

It does seem very harsh. Due to my husband's work and because of family, we travel quite a bit. Although I tend to keep my subs going during travel times, I would like the option of suspending my account when I feel it's necessary. I wouldn't re-purchase any game more than once, for any reason other than if I wanted more than one account (which I don't in this case). I suppose I could come to understand that my characters could be ditched after an extended period of time, but not the game account, itself. I am willing to re-sub and start a new character, but that's about as far as I'd go.
If this is true, it makes no sense to me at all.

ffxi does that. if you wait over 3 months the key is deactivated and you have to purchase a new boxed copy. no discount or anything for having paid the first time.
