Didnt they tell us that the expansion was free for all paying customers?systemv wrote:You get bits and pieces of the big picture reading all those articles but I think that gamemethod.com article had the best info.
It seems to me that you'll not only need this expansion to create the content but to play in it as well. I really hope this doesn't backfire on them. What I hope they'll release with is a few dev created instances showing us what can be done with the tools and have these further the story a bit. That alone would have me buying the thing.
I dont think that you need to buy the ring expansion to play the player created maps. The maps will be build of the existing 4 GByte library which everyone has installed allready. In this case players only need to download the description of the map. Everything else would be insane.systemv wrote:You get bits and pieces of the big picture reading all those articles but I think that gamemethod.com article had the best info.

A bit of a sidetrack... did anyone notice how big instances are playing a part in MMOs now? Almost every game I was looking forward to was pushing this feature to the front. Quite a change from just 2 years ago. Was there anything like it before City of Heros? That's the first MMO that made me take notice of it.
