Re: A Tangled Web
It turns out this was just a trick. Some enemy of the guild of Elias pretending to be Karavan. I am sorry for my actions. Thankfully, no harm was done.
In the end, the impostor dealt a great blow to the Karavan and the faith of Jena. Rest assured, we will not rest until he is brought to justice. Next time we won't be so easily misled.

Even though the kami "side" prevailed in the conflict, I hope both "sides" learned a valueable lesson.
There is more than meets the eye.
And I applause the karavans who accepted this when both agents was taken to safety, and the secrets the agents had was released.
As it were, they were agents of a neutral guild.
It came to a clash when the second agent was at the portal.
The karavan have estimated our haste to get and return Syndex, and had taken up position at the portal to bar the kami from leaving.
The numbers was in their favor, but it was for naught.
I would ascribe that to the talks about peace so their hearts was not in the fight, but only Ma-Duk knows the true reason.
My biggest hope is that now this conflict is over, it will give rise to strengthening of the bonds between us homins.
Let's stand united against our common enemies and solve our differences in peace when possible.
When it was all over, the homins were all invited to the bar in Thesos (drinks were on me ).
A few joined, and we had a relaxing time with mirth and tales told all around.
And of course some talks about the days events, a day few will soon forget.

Re: A Tangled Web
'neutral guild'? the guild of elias are heretics to the Jena faith, these agents were gathering information, what would be called spying in most books. I note that names mentioned were kami aswell as Karavan, have the hasty actions of the Kami to thwart Karavan justice allow criminals to escape to continue their activities against respectable guilds?

Whatever it is i wasnt able to participate. Computer crash
Re: A Tangled Web
This was the first in-game event I've ever seen. I wasn't able to participate due to all my characters still being fairly weak, and lag, but it was exciting anyway.

Indeed, it was a *very* cool event
Re: A Tangled Web

Re: A Tangled Web
Hail fellow Homins
I was able to be one that were willing and ready to sacrifice himself to greater cause and saw in the end Elyssahs escape from karavan hordes.
When our Kami allies called us to ready our arms and head to rescue mission to Lands of Umbra, we were ready and eager.
Seek and rescue/destroy mission for both sides seemed to be more like day stroll in Prime Roots. Kami allies moved like wind thru dangerous lands and nothing prevailed our path to Three Totems Pass. After brief moment of confusion and gathering our strenght, we persuated Elyssah to come with us and seek assylum from lands of Zorai.
We heard in early stage scout reports from southern Lands of Umbra that massive karavan mob was approaching and readied us to take any neccessary means to protect Elyssah. Running like wind we started our trek to back in lands of Zorai.
After short time in our journey we were astonished about the fact that no one chased us. Not a single karavan allie on tail, some minor kitin forces were swept away with haste. In that point we started to suspect some evil trick from sneaky karavans and behold we were right.
We made it easily to Yelkgrove gate and allmost congratulated each other, when suddenly massive force of Homins attacked us from front and rear of our group. They tried to trap us and take Elyssah life before she could reach her haven.
Fierce battle started and poison, fire, swords and death took it's toll. Battle raged long and fierce and in some point all was open... who stands and who falls. Some unfortunate varinxes got in middle of this and were cut down in pieces and blood run like river.
In the end Elyssah was able to made her path to gate with small band of bodyguards and our task was fullfilled. Battlelust still held some Homins but slowly battle started to cease. Kami side has won and karavans had to accept this truth and still wait day to come when they reign.
Some of ye Homins mourn of these incidents, Homins against Homins, but i say "So be it!".
I rather like to see misguided homins to abandon their false goddess and her prophets and enjoy rich nature of Atys and all of it's wonders. But i see now that it's too late. Blood calls for blood and open wound between Kami and karavan supporters can't be healed with words only.
These times need strong Homins. If ye are not willing to grab yer arms and give yer sweat and blood for Kamis, everyone are free to go back in gardening, dirt digging or partying in all those meaningless Homin show offs. I rather ready miself and stand against karavan mobs.
Soldiers are made for fight and fight it shall be.

OOC: Ty for everyone involved about event, it was great! Karavan faction fighted hard and imho it was close call in Elyssah one. It was bit of chaos in some points, but i think it went pretty well thou. I hope next time you give us a fair chace, and don't be so predictable

Re: A Tangled Web
I could only attend to first part but that was great fun. PvP worked better than in kami vs. karavan capture the flag in Trench of Trials some months earlier. I think it was because war parties stayed in good formations and there was clear goals so parties actually found each other
Both war parties got victories so it was not just a slaughter of one party.
Karavan party actually saved me from death penalty as I was struggling with some najabs and tyranchas when 50 homin strong karavan party approached. Najab was just finishing me but Odsman nuked me down before that
EDIT:
Asto's description of events was otherwise accurate but fails to mention the reason why Karavan forces did not catch main Kami forces until Yelkgrove.
After short strugle with Heart Breakers, Kami party lost vital lead to Karavan party due to indeciveness and Karavan followers approached fast. Situation was a dire indeed, but few volunteers stood up and formed a line to block Karavan advance while main party continued to south with Ellyssa.
These valiant volunteers were ultimately doomed but determined resistance took unprepared Karavan forces by surprise before they managed to take a proper battle formation. Fierce battle resulted in a Karavan victory but bought precious minutes that allowed main party to advance unopposed to more favorable defensive terrain in Yelkgrove.
