Trouble with download

I signed up for the free trial last night and then started to download the game. It said that there were 1.17 GB to download, so naturally I left it be for the night.

I came back and only 0.5 GB downloaded. I tried to install it, and the installation dialog box told me that there was an unexpected end to the archive and to redownload a fresh copy.

I will do that, but I'm afraid that I'll wait 5 hours again, and it'll just terminate. I do know that my viruscan turned on sometime in the middle of the night and maybe that's it, so I've disabled it as best as I can (man, that thing is feisty--it does NOT want to be turned off). Is there any known issue with downloading that large of a file from your servers? Is the entire file there under that one download, or only half?

I just want to start playing! Now I have to wait another half a day.

The download should work just fine, I am not aware of any current technical issues with it.

As for your question, it is one big archive of approximately 1 Gbyte file size (zipped).

It might be so unlucky that you have encoutered a timeout that caused the download to abort. Did you or do you have the option to get it with a download manager that can resume the transfer if it gets stalled ?

If you really don't manage to download the full game (due time-outs or so) there is always the option of sending you the .exe, and ryzom recover and I think one or 2 dll's, patching & ryzom recover should do the rest. But this is only good if you are really out of options.

try using download manager. i never trust browser (firefox in my case), to download big (100MB+) files.

i have not had any experience with DL-Managers before, but first i found was

(they offer 30 day trial version)

PS: if you finally get that 1Gig file, turn off your antivirus when installing or it will hang. dont forget to put av back later

I had a similar problem today. I downloaded the client and I got 1.14 Gig. I run the installation and when it gets to "extracting zoarai_zones.bnp" it stops and says there was a corrupt file and an unexpected end to archive or whatever. When i try to run ryzom it starts searching for ryzom.exe and can not find it.
