Nevrax: To be clear about the people that seem not to like the game.

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

1. They want the lore / story / etc. Fed to them in a consecutive flow of in-game things. Quests, missions, instances, whatever.

2. They want there spells/actions handed to them in optimal form so all they have to do is click a button.

3. They want a VERY intuitive and slick use interface which tells them where to click/etc.

4. They want the game to be taught to them. In the first 1-2 hours maybe 3 hours they want to be proficient at the game. We all know that it currently takes months for that in Ryzom.

5. They want the game to draw them in and have them feeling completely a part of everything within the first 10-20 hours of play. I would probably err on the short side of that number. (I would agree here, with a 2 week trial you probably have a 10 hour shot at attracting a casual player.)

EDIT: P.S. You cannot imagine how much it would help to have the movement keys be W,A,S,D to start this alone pevs so many of the beginning players. The key mapping is pretty cumbersome too even if you know how to find it somehow, it does not intuitively let you remap over something, it just over writes it. :(

Sincerely just trying to help,

Noin.
I also see a problem with ppl who dont like the game:

They have no imgaination skills, evidently no one ever taught them about pretending at play time. Thus with no imagination skills they cant handle how to play this game. I have to feel sorry for them. this game is so diverse I just wish they would put some commercials on TV in the US. The clip the have on the site would be excellent for a TV promo.

Noin, youve just described WoW completely. Your in the wrong game, come join me on Daggerspine if this is what you want.
I as an outgoing player I totally disagree, this isnt what Ryzom is about and I wouldnt want to see another WoW clone. I liked the fact that Ryzom had the mechanics of customising your spells etc to suit your game play. It showed the depth of potential this game had/has.
My comment would be that they havent been able to deliver the content in a reasonable amount of time and weve given up waiting.
Ive re-subscribed to Planetside for the moment, after 10 months away its surprisingly refreshing.

This game is for players of all ages, however it requires the player to have some imagination and it requires some social skills if you wish to progress faster as teaming is much more effiencent than solo.

Thanks fry :)

Tyr.
Actually, this is one of the things I really like, an xpcap of 3k is imo perfect and a removal of this would nerf the lvling seriously. Just my opinion tho...
