Sorry i must have missed something...
No matter what I say, no matter what example I give, you and some of the others on this board aren't going to like it. Why? Because it involves players fighting other players in one way or another. If you agree with it or not, this is the direction the game is going. If you are going to be angry or upset everytime a new feature is introduced that centers around some sort of conflict, then you will never be happy with the game or the story. My suggestion to you is that if you really want a game where you work with other players to build communities without having to deal with combat, look up A Tale In The Desert.

And then you cut off ways to get to spesial spots for the genaral harvester "not what i am one :D " what option do you give them then? forceing them to ether change their game play or try sneak past Guild controlled NPC?
If you don't want to kill your fellow homin, then either you would need to be on the good side of the guild that owns the outpost or you would have to be very sneaky and not get caught.

There is something I really don't get here. You are saying that you don't want to fight another player and making you do so would force you to change your style of gameplay. If I build an outpost and consider you an enemy and attack you when you come near, why do you consider me or my guild any different than a pack of gingos you would run into in the wild?

It is unrealisitc to think that all homins will be nice and love each other. There are already tribes and bandits that you steer clear of. Why should a Kult of Kami camp be looked at any differently than a Zora Kovan camp?

I'm just tired of people argueing that any conflict between in game groups or players is a bad thing.

From what I have heard so far, its not only PvP/GvG but there will be some PvE element as well. For example I know several outpost in prime roots that the kitin patrols go right through. I can't imagine the kitin patrols being too friendly to someone setting up outposts there.

As for harvesting, some outposts may cut off access to harvest spots. But other outposts may actually open up harvest spots. To take Raynes example of Bounty Beaches, there's actually some very good foraging in Bounty Beaches. Its just such a pain to get to so its usually not worth it to forage there. But if the outpost that was nearby the forage area was active, that could open up a whole new forage area for a guild.

Im sorry raynes but we want to live in peace :)

Problem is what many don't want pvp. they played plenty of games there they login and look outside a town or what ever and some luny PK comes jumping and wasted all in the area you get some kind of penalty and wake up, who does he see grining in front of him then hi wakes up 3 times?

Im more in for a middle thing there you get a choice to be killed or kill.

PR is a lovly place for what.

I think you would wish for more players down there? :)

There are no towns in a pvp area. There are tribes in PvP areas though. The fact is that when you enter a pvp area, you pretty much accept that a player can kill you while you're down there. It gives you a small time to decide "stay or leave". Now, as for me, I don't go around killing foragers (I forage too...and it's a pain in the rear end to regen focus and get back to the location you were digging in). The thing is that there is no reason for pvp really. There are roleplay reasons but they don't really help the story along ya know. All the times I've been down in PvP, I've never seen anyone killed nor have I been killed (I'm lucky? lol).

However, with outposts, there's reason for conflict and whatnot. I have nothing against conflict as long as it's good fun. :)

we all know that that is neither the reality in ryzom nor will it ever be, outposts are always a good distance away from towns, there is no penalty for being killed in pvp, and spawncampers are swiftly dealt with by the csr teams

"If you are going to be angry or upset everytime a new feature is introduced that centers around some sort of conflict"

I'm been in this game since January, this is the ONLY feature that's being added. Not only does it catter to a smaller percentage of the population, but it gives them the power to interfere with my gaming experience. How would you feel if they decided to introduce a new feature...No PVP! As i've said before I have NO problem with consentual PVP. What you propose is exactly the opposite. Restricting access to those who don't want to spend as time as some lvling up fighting skills or don't adhere to your view of the world...

SHAME on you and SHAME on Nevrax if they let you.
