Thanks for great and eventually OPTIMISTIC info straight from Devs......
hope this would stop many of us complaining all the time about "lack of..."
I'm not trying to say that all we should blindly follow what is given to us, but we need to give our support and hope to ppl making this game.....

Who knows? maybe if Ryzom does great and expands we will be seeing our beloved NA CSRs again :D

Well, new Ryzom website has still Themis logo in it and Nevrax logo is second logo in Themis webpages' client section. I guess, Nevrax buys marketing services from Themis based on old press releases.

Thanks for that report Raynes. Wish they would give us something official especially after revealing things at E3.

My questions:

1.) Was there any mention of neutral and how they are implemented for outposts? Actually was there any mention in regard to fame and outposts?

2.) When you say many different types of NPCs do you mean just warrior/caster types? Were there any non-combat NPCs like merchant or crafting NPCs?

3.) Any teleporters at the outposts or was there mention of how a guild would get to their outposts other than walking?

4.) Did they say what the benefits of owning an outpost was or is it just a land grab type of deal?

5.) Will outposts further the story in any way?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, did you also get a hint of what the different outpost types will do? e.g. Farm, Research Center, Borderpost, etc.

1) Outposts are a pvp thing. You would build and maintain one with the idea that you are going to be attacked by other players. I didn't see any reason why you would build one otherwise. There was no mention of how fame will affect the outposts.

2) The list I saw mostly centered around warrior/caster types.

3) You could ride your mektoub to the outpost. :) Three is travel time involved with the outpost, even the NPC's take time to travel to it.

4) No mention of what benefits there are. I beleive the idea is to give guilds something to fight each other over. Besides wouldn't it be nicer if you had 2 or 3 camps deep in the wild that you could stay safe in, instead of only being able to go to towns?

5) The outposts are going to be able players and guilds. It won't push the main story forward as they aren't centered around NPC's.

From the sound of your questions I take it you want outposts to be about something besides pvp and guild vs. guild. If that is the case you will be disappointed.

I don't think the name of the outpost will make a difference in what the outpost does. It's very possible in the first version you won't even be able to pick the types of buildings (i'm not sure on that).

This is major benefit on its own right. It has a major impact on harvesting. Maybe Kami tolerance comes up near Dyron :)
