Open GL shadows

Post by amitst »

OK, in OpenGL mode I swear everything is prettier, I'd like to know that too but thats not the point of this post.

The shadows render perfectly fine, but opposite my character in relation to the shadow, there is another shadow, but it looks like a big UPC symbol.

Since theres no search function( if ther is one i like to know) i cant see if this has been reported.

I had a Geforce FX 5200, it had the problem. I switched to Geforce 6800, it still has the problem. I have also updated drivers a number of times.

If you haven't already, you should update your DirectX to version 9.0c.
And always make sure you remove your current video drivers and reboot your system before reinstalling/upgrading them. Driver files that are in use will not normally get updated properly.
Other than the above, go into your windows display adapter settings and try changing some of the advanced settings there.

yo zerlin,

im using opengl not directx so what would updating directx have to do with opengl

edit: on second though opengl might just be looking better cause of my system setting for anisotropic filtering and stuff, im gonna check that

edit: i set it to diectx and i crashed, i never crash, so auto must have been using opengl, i prolly didnt notice it cause i had shadoews turned off for a long time

your truly,
maril
