Idea for comming events

I had some thoughts on (roleplay) events. Ryzom is quite flexible, why not use this ?

What if we define a max spell ? We can do that with the stanzas.
Depending on number of players and area of event we could decide to not allow max spells, but lower ones.

It would be harder and more interessting. Melees would not get bored by powerful elemental mages. Lower players would feel much more integrated. With balanced stanzas we could have as much fun as some of us had on starter island.

How about counting players before an event and the organizer is then telling max spells to the group.

What do you think ?

I think you are on the right track for a great idea. I say this because I have been thinking of something similar, so of course I would agree. I would like to see arena matches with NO ele at all. Easy to police because of the fireworks.

Imagine the fun melee would have, imagine actual movement in an arena fight instead of 'stand and nuke'. Ranged folk would be the only ranged damage dealers (and I use the term loosely) and may actually be interesting, if protected a bit/backed up by healers etc. Healers would likely have melee types run up to them and all in all much more fun to watch.

If folk like I am happy to organise this (or better still the thread starter). Oh, I hope I aint hijacking, just agreeing enthusiastically and running with the ball!

Good idea for some events. I guess max spell should be quite low to have actual effect (e.g. single lvl 140 acid or something).

Some other wild ideas that are bit similar:
- limitations to healing
Fact that healing spells are powerful and everyone can heal takes out lot of danger element and nukers & melee can use maxed actions with no worries
- low lvl trek
Max lvl 50 characters, played by experienced players, only but lots of them. Treks with lvl 250 characters aboard are bit unexciting

sure, i did not mean elemental mages only. I ment all. Lets assume there are 12 ppl going into a lvl 150 area. The max skill then might be a 80 for all. Melees must degrade they spells , healers, afflictioners and elementals too. No doble casts for healers and nukers. In this case the group would be quite busy with a 5* orange Kincher. I am not sure but it could be lot of fun.

Just a little note on when we are out with an army of homins:

- Tell ppl to use their titles (fx if Im healing I use the title "Healer" so everyone knows what my role is in the battle)

- The armys General should be just that - a General (that means leading the army and issuing commands, NOT running around trying to kill stuff)

- Giving good information to the army before we strike out so that all know what to do to prevent homins going bezerk and getting all killed

- Using scouts (a few good scouts can save the army lots of trouble)


Of course all this is dependant on our own abilities to work together as a group... ,-)

I think all these suggestions are great. It will make the game much more interesting. I'm in.
