Positive things

Post by jipekr »

For once Id like to hear some positive things about the Saga, not just complaining all the time about this little thing or that...

So I pray thee good homins, bring us some positive things - tell us about why you like the game so much instead of trying to find something wrong with it (wich I know is human nature).

I personally like Ryzom so much because of the living world, Ive seen many attempts at this in other games but Ryzom has done so well with this I think =). Also Im totally sold on the whole stanza concept, I love to able to make my own personal stanzas =)

On top of that I think Ryzom also has a superb and mature community, not many l33T ppl here thank Jena...

My favourite things are:

The skill system. Having a bendy system is jsut nice.

The animals. Everything about them. From their look to their living/migration habits. Its like they're really alive and i like that alot.

There are other things too, but those are my top two fave things.

Quite impossible assignent. Mmmh. How about things wrong in other games. :)

- Rats drop gold and swords
- Looks like a hybrid of every fantasy&historical theme ever invented
- Graphics, terrain and weather effects are not awesome
- Mobs just stand around doing nothing waiting to get killed
- is full of leet kiddies with extremely stupid names and try to duel you every other minute
- You are limited to predefined actions and spells

Peerless community.
Strong roleplaying.
Immersive and believable world.
Excellent customer service.
Few Leet Kiddies.
Classless skill system.

A do what you want,
when you want,
pick-up,
put-down (this is hard) game.

You can hunt with any level char and still have fun.

You can create a career, a job and a life.

You can go to any land, any place at any time.

A world alive with interesting people with minds of there own and characters to match.

A game where you can sit in the same spot and do nothing for 3 hrs just watching the world go by you.

Sunsets, sunrises.

A weather system, where you feel like your getting wet when it rains.

THE WATER!

Hidden gems in the landscape, that are often missed, but are so special when they are found.

Unique, but beleivable flora and fauna.

Plus all of the stuff metioned above
Plus a whole load more

  • Enfinity & Enfiniti :)
  • My guild mates, who aren't just my friends and allies, they're my Atys "family by choice".
  • The community as a whole.
  • The rich, diverse, and immersive beauty of the land and all that lives upon it.
  • The stanza system, which leads to subtleties like tinkering with your heal spells during hunts, to better match who you're hunting with. Can't you just picture a "real" mage doing the same sort of thing?
  • The classless skill system, which allowed me to create a single character who is as multidimensional as I want her to be, rather than forcing me to start over or create a secondary character had I decided I'd picked the "wrong" character class.

Open ended skills - I was a little lost at first, coming from EnB where I had 4 alts so I could be in on everything but now I wouldn't have it any other way. Also that I can play with low level people using other skills I haven't push along as much as others.

The world itself - how it looks and sounds! And that you "bump" into things - just enough to add a touch of realism without being frustrating.

The community - a big plus there. A friend of mine went on a world tour last night and wasn't turned away because his alt was barely con 50 and couldn't help in any way.
I'm taking my time, savoring the experience - I made lvl 130 heal, ele and melee last month and got past 150 in forage this month and I've been playing since the game went live last September (been playing since the first open beta). There still so much yet to do!
