* t: Target
You can only see your targets hit points, if you want to be able to see the rest of yours target bars or if you want to see the health of the chars around you, you could then go to u, Interface, In scene, Friends and select all the bars you want to see (Sap, Stamina, Focus) and those bars will appear above every chars head around you.
* s: Hands Bar
At the both ends of the Hands Bar, you can see two boxes, one for your right hand and one for your left hand. If you want to equip an item in your left hand (dagger, ammo for your gun,..), you need to equip a 1h weapon in your right hand first.
To trigger the actions you have on your Hands Bar, you can click on the icon itself or you could use the numeric keys (1-0) for the upper row of actions and Shift+1 - Shift+0 for the lower row of actions.
To switch quickly from page to page, you can Press Ctrl+1 Ctrl+0 (or use the mouse scroll wheel).
I prefer my actions to be well organized, I make different pages for different things. For instance I have a page for melee, a page for offensive magic and a page for defensive magic. (I do keep the basic healing spells on all the three pages, so I can heal a friend without any delays). I also like to craft and to harvest, I have a different page for them as well.
The advantage of using more pages for your spells and actions is that you can easily remember which numeric key has a certain function designated.
For instance, my first action on my melee page, is the highest Increase Damage I have. On my offensive and even defensive magic pages, the first action is the highest Acid Damage Spell I have.
This way, when I am attacked by a mob, I dont need to try and remember which key I need to press to attack, I press 1 and it is always correct, no matter if I am doing melee or magic.
Same goes for healing spells, I have them on the same keys on each page (except for the crafting page), this to make sure I will not loose precious time and will quickly heal the ones in need.
Of course, on my defensive magic page, I have more possibilities and I have all the spells edited a few times, depending on how I might need them:
First: the normal ones, using the highest Range Credits I can find, Sap Credits and no Time Credits (every second counts during a fight);
Then I have the same spells using HP Credits instead of Sap Credits I use these when I dont have any Sap left, I am not under direct attack by a mob, but my team mates do need immediate healing;
And the last set of healing spells: the maximum Range Credits and maximum Time Credits and as less Sap or HP Credits possible (preferably none); I use these spells during the down time, after the mob is dead and we are regenerating.
(actually I also have Heal Life with no Range Credits at all, so that I can heal a team mate from far when needed)
* y: Team
Quick way to see your teammates health and to select them if they are in need of healing. If you would right-click on one of them and select Compass Target the compass will always show you how far and in what direction your teammate is, so you can find each other more easily in times of need.
You can only see your team window when you are in a team.
* x: Chat
If you stay in the User tab window you will be able to read all what is said in all the chat tabs (Around, Region, Team, Guild). Depending of the chat tab you have selected in the down left corner, whatever you type will appear visible to that specific chat tab. To change the chat tab you want to type in, simply click on the down left chat button and make your new choice.
Around, Region, Team, Guild Chat in differnt colors
Because i don't want to miss what ppl say, i keep my chat in User chat and have changed the Chat colors from the different chat tabs so that i can clearly see in which chat tab they belong.
Chat is by default white, i kept the Around chat white. (shouting is yellow)
Region is by default blue, i choose a bit brighter blue.
Team mates appear as purple in the Compass, i choose Team chat purple.
Guild chat was by default bit greenish, i choose Guild chat green.
To change the chat colors, go to Game Configuration (u), Interface, Chat.
* i: Inventory
In the upper left corner you can find Equip tab. Click on each body part to equip/unequip it.
Right click on an item and select Info to read more about it.
Right click on different tabs to separate the inventory (ie separate bag from packers)
Please take a moment to look at the filters, to set your inventory the way you need it.
* a: Action Book
Press + to see more.
The highlighted icons are of the actions/spells/stanzas you have already learned, the grayed out icons you havent yet.
Right click on each icon in the Action Book to read more about it and to see how the action was originally edited.
You can click, hold and drag your spells from the Action Book to the Hands Bar (s).
After you have dragged the action onto the Hands Bar (s) you can right click again and choose Edit to edit them.
After you will play the game for some time you will know how to edit the action and spells so they will fit better to your gameplay. For now the most important thing to remember is that you need to have as many credits (-) as you have actions or spells (+). Try to use as little HP Credits as possible, preferably none, and also try to avoid the Time Credits in offensive magic attacks (they are only available for magic) which will make your spells casting time longer. Use the highest Ranged Credits you can get.
* j: Missions Journal
If you have taken any missions you can see all the info you need in there. Click on one mission. First description is the info of the mission, second tells you what you still need to do to complete the mission.
Example: The mission is to kill 4 yubos. First description is
kill 4 yubos. If you have already killed one yubo, then the second description will be written in white letters and will say kill 3 yubos.
After you have completed the mission, you will read in your System Info you have gained x dappers you have completed a mission you have gained fame with
and lost fame with
. If you press j again, you will see Finished, click on that button to make free space for new missions.
* u: Game Configuration
I strongly suggest you first get familiar with the game before you start making too many changes in here; it is easier to decide what you need after playing for a while.
What you might find useful right away is to see all the bars of the chars close to you, therefore (in case you havent done that already) you can go to Interface, In scene, Friends and select all the bars in there.
If you are a member of a team and of a guild, and you keep you chat in the User tab so you dont miss anything, you might want an easier way to see what has been said in every one of the chat tabs (Around, Region, Team, Guild).
Therefore I suggest changing the colors of the chat messages so you will know by the color who has said anything. Your teammates appear as purple dots in your compass, so you could change the team chat in purple, and I like my guild chat to be in green so I change that too. Other players appear as blue dots in your compass, the region chat is blue; I guess you dont really need to change that. This way people next to you (using the Around Chat) will have white letters, the people in the region chat blue, your teammates purple and your guild mates green. To change chat colors go to Interface, Chat, and select the color you want to change to.
Please avoid to use the colors yellow and red for chat. When someone in the Around Chat will shout (= /shout "message), his message will appear in yellow letters. Color red is used for emotes, it would be confusing if you will use that for chat.
For as long as you dont press Accept or Ok you can safely try the rest of the settings out, if you press Cancel everything will change back to the way they were.
Good luck and have fun!
(will keep adding new stuff to it)

Re: Shortcuts, Show/Hide Windows in Game
thats quite a list you made thanks missy
I didn't see this though:
Type /shout
press return or enter what ever that key is named on your keyboard, after that everything you type next will be in the shout colour
this is great for the lazy people like me or at your wedding ingame
Also works for:
/guild
/chat
/team

Re: Shortcuts, Show/Hide Windows in Game
ooo this come up a lot missylee.
Q: "How do I get rid of that huge System Menu system on the right?"
A: You can't.
But what you can do, and I recommend you do this, is to switch it to Icon mode by right clicking on it. You can also turn the opacity way down, then stick the entire thing on the bottom right corner. You can also overlay it with another window such as system msg, chat window, or the map. Out of sight, out of mind.
