Outposts lead in?

Post by marct »

I am wondering if there will be a story and lead in to the Outposts, or are they jsut going to be dropped on us?

How did we learn how to build them?

Will there be events that "teach us" about how to build and support an outpost?

Will the closer to civilization outposts need to be held first and we move our support network outwards?

Is Atys going to become more dangerous, is this why we need outposts?

Are the kitins becoming crazy? Will mob patterns change? Will the Goo be involved?

Is there a difference in the benefits the outpost will give based on name? (Stronghold, Research Center, Farm, Border Post, etc)

Will Noin ever stop asking questions?

Are invaders coming to take over the world?

Will mobs ever learn and change their patterns? Will mobs roam between regions?

I need to be involved, and I want to change the world.

Noin.

P.S. Will white undies ever be red?

They will drop on us, but you will have more then enough time to get all the information you need by reading the ATS forum or going to ATS yourself. At least this was the way with all the other features, hence I guess it will be the same now.

As for the other questions you better go and ask delphi.

They'll probably have a story for it, dont worry :)

However, I doubt so much an ingame event as a lore story as to why, as they did with mektoubs and haircuts =)

My guess is that the extension that will be announced at E3 will be player run governements. The outposts will be the first step towards this. I can see players having the ability to build an outpost and declare themselves an independant country. Or multiple outposts joining together to create a nation.

I can see it now...

If we have cities all over the place.... why do we need to "learn" to build outposts? Seems like a completly plausibly occurance given the current technology available to us...

Something that popped in my head, was the different types of outposts in relation to things.

Will the introduction of consumables (?) mean that a guild who controls a Farm outpost be able to produce these via NPC sellers in the outpost.

Will the research centres mean new weapons/guns and armour types via new crafting patterns.

What will the faction fame provide your held outpost, an ambassador for guild missions/teleport etc
