Atm, no point having high fame for a tribe. However, it is expected that tribes will give out rites for those with good standing amonst them. It does not hurt much to start building up fame bit early.

Other point is to do tribe missions to gain player race or kami/karavan fame without losing e.g. kami fame when gaining tryker fame. But still, tribe fame is still not needed.

There migth be some outpost related fame requirements although diplomacy option was canceled/postponed. Maybe you need good tribal fame before you can get killing mission for obtaining an outpost at tribe's territory.

And if you want your chosen outpost right after they hit live, you better have required fame already.

Or you might have some RP agenda. Maybe you would like to be the Friend of Chlorogoos or something.

But answer to original question is no point atm.

I have yet to find a 'trader' that isn't Zorai/Matis/Tryker/Fryos. So these are the only Fame values that currently matter from this point of view.

Protection - having good Fame or No Fame is useful if you 'run to the village' for safety. Having bad Fame with a tribe means that this service might not be offered, or the tribe assists in your spawning.

At the moment - you are almost better off not playing the Fame game, however not playing the Fame game does limit 'things to do'.
