You will have to excuse me....
Re: You will have to excuse me....
I never cared about the mounts. I cared about the rites. I was sure that with the rites, if I put some time and effort into them I would learn more about the secret history of Ryzom and become what I am in name only. An Elder of Atys. Someone with knowledge beyond what can just be explored and discovered yourself. I was disappointed. But I am still hopeful. Hope only lasts so long though.

Re: You will have to excuse me....
The issue i think all you people that tell the whiners to go somewhere else is missing is that they wouldnt complain if they didnt care. The people that dont care leave without a word, the people that do complain still sees hope for the game. I was one of the complainers, back in october. I finally had enough one day and i cancelled my subscription, said my goodbyes, logged off and uninstalled the game.
Ive come back though, because i always felt this game had alot of potential. Some of it has been unveiled, but most of it is still out there ready to be added to the game.
Just be thankful the people that voice their negative opinions actually do, instead of leaving the game and not looking back, and leaving the devs thinking everything is perfect since no one is complaining.

Re: You will have to excuse me....
Good point actually. The most harm an unhappy customer can do by complaining will be done on other forums anyway... as long as people are still subscribed and voicing their concerns here, they are doing more good than harm.jokque wrote:The issue i think all you people that tell the whiners to go somewhere else is missing is that they wouldnt complain if they didnt care. Re: You will have to excuse me....
Like some others have said, this time I agree with Raynes.
You get used to Raynes' style after a while. In my experience he is genuinely interested in improving the game (even if he is a one-eyed Kami lover
.
Things have been a little quiet regarding new stuff (although i've been a bit busy having fun to notice). Next major patch is going to create big waves because its either not going to contain everything expected by players or its going to contain lots and people are going to be upset by the changes. Such is life.
I'm also keen to see what our community reporter has to say re: E3.
BTW other than being invisible to players sometimes after getting off them I love my mount. Travelling at "Speed-up" speed everywhere at 40k dappers/couple of hours is fun IMHO.

I think we need a little more patience. E3 starts in just a few days. They'll probably wait until the 19th for the big announcement. When we wake up from our Star Wars Episode III hang-overs and finish updating our blogs with spoilers, plot holes and blunders, Nevrax should have a nice treat for us to drool over.
I'm assuming things are really nuts at Nevrax. Restructuring and getting new people up-to-speed is probably taking a lot of time away from bringing the "Glimpses" off the drawing boards and into the game. Even the latest "Glimpses" seem to be "ho-hum". We've had 8 rounds of Q&A and I don't remember any of the questions or the answers. I do remember not agreeing with one or two answers. ATS was unavailable for a week. I'm hoping that was the "in-house" testing of outposts but probably not. Spring cleaning is definitely slower than any of us expected. I don't know what was up with the in-game events. I couldn't follow the amber one, the goo event crashed the server and the "increased kitin activity" one??? Was it even an event?
Raynes, you're excused. You complain so others don't have to. So others don't forget that somewhere within this Saga there is a story that needs to be told and a game worth playing. To remind yourself why you're so passionate over a little French game that was gonna be a different kind of a MMORG. Maybe its your way to bring the forum community's focus back to the game and not the petty bickering and greifing that has flooded the forums of late. You do get obsessive, melodramatic and go "over-the-top" but that's you're style. You're a lucky dog to be able to attend E3. Just don't bite anyone from Jolt or Nevrax. Electronic Arts is fair game however.
But I'm still having fun, I'm still grinding. I hit 130 in 3 skills this weekend, working on bringing my crafting in line with my character's attributes. The web trio still has 75% of the Atys left to chronicle. The crafting algorithm still eludes us (so close... I can smell it!). Player created events are getting more creative. I have a great bunch of guildmates and friends to hang out with. I've played during open beta and ever since release. I guess I'm a little slower than y'all with the mad skills and the Master titles. But then I wouldn't have anything but PvP, GvG, RP and outposts to look forward to.

Re: You will have to excuse me....
I do not always agree with Raynes methods or opinions but I must agree this time. According to today's announcement, the ATS will shut down for 2 weeks for in-house testing. At a very minimum (based on past performance) it will take another 2 weeks for the devs to fix all of the bugs that came with the outposts and probably another 2 weeks to fix other bugs they inadvertently introduce to things already functioning properly. At best we are looking at waiting for another month and a half an possibly 2 or more months for any new content. Adding this to the 3 months we have already been waiting is inexcusable. At the current rate of player departure from the game, there will be few of us left around to actually see any of the new content.
WAKE UP Nevrax, you can no longer tempt us with unfulfilled promises. It is time you realize that you must either produce or perish.

It is either waiting or verry buggy content. Do you want a bugged outpost or a playable one ? I can wait for a while (to busy to play)navra wrote:I do not always agree with Raynes methods or opinions but I must agree this time. On the testing
After the inhouse testing there should be a testing plan that testers have to go through, organise it porperly with alot of people on at the same time to get the feel for it. Last I heard from ats (don't have acces) is that it is a rather disorganised process.

Re: You will have to excuse me....
Just like in your previous post it seems you are blaming the players for the time Nevrax put in under-used features. It's Nevrax responsibility and job to take out only the ideas and suggestions that are worth the effort. There are a lot of crazy suggestions here on the boards and (hopefully) most of them will not make it into the game. Seeing the state they are in it is essential to use the limited resources they have in the best possible way.xenofur wrote:same thing, people demanded the rites HERE and NOW, instead of letting nevrax get them done :/

As for mounts:
I was in the open beta for a few months, before the focus beta started. I remember they were already testing mektoub mounts back then, but only GMs had access to them. It's pretty obvious if you put one of them near the spawn in Pyr with a GM with a shiny staff, everyone will start wanting one. Yes they look cool and at the time would be a nice feature to the game but if they still had to start(?) making the outposts and rites....
