How to receive a "res plz"!

hehe, although the words on the map aren't an exact location of where you are...it is still absolute...and i MUCH prefer someone use words on the map over "i'm to the left of the torbaks, past the watchtower."

DON'T respawn after an SOS call without notifying region.
"Thanks for trying...respawning in 30 seconds."

After someone answered your SOS you *never ever* hit the respawn button. Some ppl risk DP to ressurect you. So have the patience and wait for ress or timeout !

Nice post, must admit the "res pls" cry annoys me, particularly when it's followed by multiple "where?" cries.

One other point on giving directions, which really bugs me, don't use "forage speak" - "I'm near resin hill". I don't dig much and have NO IDEA where resin hill is! So I just ignore those cries for help. For all I know I coud be only a few meters away!

Words on the map aren't absolute though, that's the problem. Next time you're in game open up your map and change the zoom level up and down. The letters in the words move by hundreds of meters. More than once I haven't gotten to someone in time because their zoom and mine were different, and I ended up going to the wrong spot. I don't even bother trying to find someone anymore if they can't give better directions than "next to the L"

Great post - I really hope everyone looks at this - there have been many of these issues lately!

To add to philu's post about the "forage speak" - this should go for "hunting speak" as well. Not everyone knows where certain mobs are - and even worse is when people refer to things by names they made up. Sorry, I won't always know where "[INSERT MOB NAME HERE] hill" is!! People use names for places in their guilds and hunting groups - but unless the name is on the map - you shouldn't use it as the only description of where you are.

It may be ok to reference foraging and hunting spots to help people find you - only AFTER you have given specific information that ANYONE can use. Also keep in mind that there are so many spots for certain mats and mobs - so that can be very confusing information!

In harvesting areas (At least in fount) Giving your direction from a letter in a word and what resource spawns there gets someone to you quickly in my experience. Worth a try =D

Well, a harvester could have problems to say "near varinx spot" or "between ragus and varinx", lol. They use the most familiar set of coordinates: the harvesting ones since they are harvesters.

And 2 adds to the thread:

1. If the mob that killed you attacks the healer, dont run away. Taunt the mob. After all, the healer is helping you , is no reason for him/her to get dp.

2. If you see someone down, rez him/her. You don't know when you'll need a rez.
