Bah. Sleepy, so starting to ramble. But there's 2 more pence on the matter from me.
P.S. Jessica, if you are reading this thread, PLEASE advise them on this PvP issue. You seem to have a good grasp of it, don't let them make a dog's breakfast of it.

Very good point. 100% agree.iciak wrote:What drives us nuts is the attitude of the griefer/pk. The "I pwned j00!" crap. As has been stated before, most of the player base in this game is a more mature player than the average mmo player, and we have no problems with the PvP system AS IT NOW EXISTS, because, for the most part, it works well, and noone is really taking advantage of the situation and going gank crazy in the PvP areas. But, as some of the posters are saying, IF the PvP is opened up even wider, it WILL attract the ganker squads, and then the game goes to hell. And the gankers won't even stay long enough to make a difference. They'll get bored fast enough, once the crowd who dislikes that atmosphere quits playing. Then, Ryzom will become just like every other MMO, and most of the people who have stayed patiently throughout all the trials and tribulations thusfar will disappear.
As I read it.... the cutoff points for the poll would be the 1's.... top 1 meaning "more PvP.... but not a lot more" and the bottom 1 meaning "less PvP but not a lot less"iciak wrote:Then, Ryzom will become just like every other MMO, and most of the people who have stayed patiently throughout all the trials and tribulations thusfar will disappear. The poll shows that this will happen.
What last events and who is this?vutescu wrote:Your attitude regarding pvp explains better the last events. No more comments here.
HAHA... phenominal reply.vinnyq wrote:I just like to add,

But the majority of us don't.
There, I said it!

The only addition I'd love to see the game add is... "All 250 regions with no patrols are PvP"
GoC, Void, Etc.
There's competition for high lvl spots all the time. Imagine if people actually start playing this game? I'd LOVE a server population of a few hundred thousand people.... but consider the crowd.
This would alleviate that problem but still allow all the lower regions for people to build their strength without worry of other players what-so-ever and then only see PvP when they are competing for the "supreme mats" of fighting spots if you will.

Because we are all so tired, so tired of levelling, even the squeak of a Yubo going down seems to give no joy. So weary we couldn't possibly kill of a fellow harvester in PR that somehow managed, with supreme effort, to dig supremes.manya wrote:Come to think of it, this is exactly what people expect to see when the Outposts come. Yet they could have it already, if they wanted. So why don't they?
If you look at the straight split. I'm looking at the extreme ends, as in the first three options of the poll, vs the last three options of the poll. The middle ground is starting to look interesting now, too, on this poll.brithlem wrote:As I read it.... the cutoff points for the poll would be the 1's.... top 1 meaning "more PvP.... but not a lot more" and the bottom 1 meaning "less PvP but not a lot less"
Well.... if you use the middle as a splitting point.... you'll quickly find that (at the time of this post) 62 people voted above half.... and 71 below half... for a total of 133 votes.
I might be crazy but 71 out of 133 (53%) .... to me .... doesn't seem like some manner of "overwhelming majority" espescially to the point where anyone can jump on their soapbox and exclaim to all in ear-shot ... "the results are in." Not to mention the fact that we have 133 respondants of how many people on the server?
