Can i be just a fighter?

Post by coolglow »

Ah client crash, so time for a quick question - can I choose to be just a fighter? I'm not totally against havesting and crafting, but could I get away with being a pure fighter? I know it would mean buying my items from other players but I'm prepared for that.

Would I be gimping myself if I concentrated on fighting alone?

Thanks!

_Sure.....the main reason for training something else is that u can get more SP...very useful if u wasted some like i did....and another reason is because it can be boring to do only one thing....but i just do fight for example and just a little def magic if the party has not my lvl or if i just get bored for a while and because i needed some more points...but it's your choice....cya in game :)

Single class player can go much faster up in levels as he spend all time on one thing, you as pure fighter can sure outlevel all rest very fast ... only that some fear it can be boring. but i think why? With all money you can get looting you can really buy all you need, i was able to get over 150 k a hour at lv 65 - 75 ... so in some fey hours you can buy best equipment on server ...

Yes a specilist works very well, like you said you just need to rely on other players for certain aspects of the game. Thats not even a disadvantage in fact its an advantage in many ways, harvesting/crafting takes a ton of time, without those distartions you can level up much much faster. You also make alot of cash faster without the crafting money sink so you can afford to pay good money for good equipment.

There is only one real disadvantage. you will find that eventually you will out level everyone else, especially the crafters and you wont have any weapons or armour to fight with. But it can certainly be done.

Its not really a dis-advantage, you can supply the crafter with mats from the mobs you kill at your level. The chances are there will also be a dedicated crafter who is at or close to your level. There certainly will be a harvester at your level to supply the mats you cant get.

I started a character as a pure fighter but rerolled because I thought I might be missing out on something.

My new character has all four skill trees but I'm finding it a bit overwhelming dealing with all four.

My advice is to pick two skill trees and run with them. Remember that you get the melee stanza by default so pick all three levels in the other profession.
