Just by way of clarification, although I did receive generous donations of mats from players I have thanked elsewhere, and I have bought mats off the merchant or from commissioned harvesters, about 85% to 90% of the mats I used to level came from my own digs. I was a fixture on the north shore of Dyron (ah, memories of some of the crazy Dyron region chats :) ) for a good long time on Windermeer, and more recently in the Scorched Corridor.

It's also worth pointing out that I can make a huge amount of money just grinding diadems and selling them to the NPC at over 20K a pop - so figure an average of 30K+ per base-source-time dig. Or, for a *lot* more money, I could just sell the mats on to players at a reasonable markup. At some of the prices I have been encouraged to sell my finished product for, I would be taking a huge loss compared to what I could make otherwise on the same mats, by other means. I would want to do this... why? :eek: ;)

lol

2million is a very reasonable price imo. i dont really understand what all this debate is about, but briefly:

people who dont craft have no idea how much time, effort and pain goes into their profession *any* crafter should b appaulded and encouraged..

as mentioned everyone complains that dapper is worthless and then moans when things are perceived as too expensive.. hello!!

<rant>
at the end of the day any crafter/digger can sell at any price they like. over the weekend someone asked me for 40-50 supreme zun.. i suggested i could sell them 15 for a price of 1mill. Now the buyer seemed a bit taken aback but from my point of view that was an extremely cheap price. i have spent many months in the pr digging, its not like sitting on kipee mull chatting away, if you are gathering mats rather than grinding on the mission mats near tp's then pr foraging is a slow and dangerous one to level.

Then we come onto the zun.. in the last 6 weeks i have manged to gather a grand total of 38 supreme zun. not counting all the time it takes to reach the zun spots i imagine i have been sitting on the spots for 10-15 hours to get those 38 mats... is 1mill starting to sound like a bargin yet> i hope so ;) [should mention this was a very friendly chat, just using it for an example]

sooo give us crafters and foragers a break.. and if u dont like the situation go and dig the mats and craft the items urself!
</rant>

phew been wanted to get that off my chest for a while.

LOL. I don't buy mats from the merchats to level. I harvest them myself. Or the people from my guild are doing this for me.
But hey... we know how to help eachother. If Keoni HAD to pay her friends to dig mats... heheeee, that's another story. Like I sayd... was her choice.
I know when I'll reach lev 250 in jewel craft I'll have to spend some time gathering mats for other crafter who wants to level in a certain area. But my jewels will help all the peeps.
Are just 2 diffrent ways to see things.
I'll really have a good laugh in about 40-50 days from now. I hope you, Keoni, to recover your milions til then coz you wont be able to do so after that period from jewel selling.

@ archerke: like i said, only q150 for now. But with time, pacience and help from my guildmates that day will come. Let's say in 2 months. LOL. I'm crafting them for myself, for my guildmates and for other homins (exactly in that order) and I'm selling them at the prices I've mentioned.
And at q250, will still be the same profit margin: 200%.
That which does not kill me makes me stronger.

I've leveled from 1 to 50 in all craft branches in noob island with q5 -> q20 mats. You can see that I have plenity of pacience.

I dont care how many mats I have to dig and how many earrings I have to craft as long I have a goal.

You keep telling me about cost. LOL. I wont pay a single dapper for mats, believe me. I can accept careplanners and I gave them 1/3 from mats and share the xp. But I wont pay someone to dig for me.

...you know, m8, although I may not do this for anybody else's stuff, I can now pretty much guarantee you that for *your* jewelry, if/when you ever make it to 250q, I will buy them all off the merchant whenever I see them, and resell them at a nice tidy profit.

You, my happy-go-lucky friend, will be working for me. :cool:

1-50 in all branches, even with q5 mats, is nowhere near as hard as getting a single branch to level 250. Getting 6 branches to level 150 is not as hard as getting a single branch to level 250. Getting 6 branches to level 250 is very extreme.

In armor I would agree, in jewels you are wrong, since jewels split at lvl 50.
