Since melee staves give close combat experience, much like daggers, wouldn't it make sense to have the option to wield these in the left hand as well? Currently I've seen a total of -zero- fighters using a staff as a weapon, and received the same grand total of requests to craft them.
This could be fixed merely by allowing the 1H staff to be equippable in the left hand, just like a dagger, when your main hand holds another staff, dagger, or 1H sword.
Whatcha think?

Melee Staff; Lookin' for Some Love!
Re: Melee Staff; Lookin' for Some Love!
I agree, I bought the pattern hoping it would be a halfway decent weapon, but I found it to be subpar, dual weilding with it would help immensly.
Re: Melee Staff; Lookin' for Some Love!
I wouldn't mind it being 2-handed, if it looked 2-handed...hehe. They did such a great job on the acrobatic dual-wielding animations, maybe they can work on a real 2-handed quarterstaff fighting style, with lots of flourishes too. Would be nice
Re: Melee Staff; Lookin' for Some Love!
aye...the prob is that the melee staff is a 1Hand, close combat weapon much like the dagger. If they'd allow dual wield like the dagger, or allow it to be used in the off hand, you may actually see them being used. As it is now, it's useless...

That is correct. I studied it in NYC when in school..we used hardened vines...the hard sap in the sticks make them impervious to being cut by blades..very useful vs. Katanas or other blades...stronger resists to that than high-carbon steel...
