LOL. "cover the merchant expenses"? You mean those 40-50 bytes you used when you stored the mats?

I wonder what are your levels, you... infelxible defenders of rules.
And how many times have you used those exploits when you were weak.

What are these bytes you speak of? Merchant clearly has expenses for storing mats at his warehouse and tirelessly offering those to other homins that do not seem to be interested.

Also, merchant loses interest on his dappers as homin will get a free loan.

I find general hostility of your words disturbing.

Guess that was an "in character" response. As long I posted "out of character" I don't see why I get "in character" responses.
And I'm not "hostile". Is nothing a NPC can lose in this game.

Wanna be "in character"? The merchant NPC is ripping you off enough when he buys - for example - q50 choice mats at less than 500 dappers but sells q50 basic mats at 1081 dappers / piece. I'm not going to cry for them.

I don't mind homins storing mats in the shop. People need to check prices before they buy is all. sometimes you place an item in the shop and simply want max price for it. if in a day it doesn't sell.. you can just retreive and lower the price.. However I do have a problem with teleporting.. I agree that you should only be able to buy back from the same dealer.. I do not teleport items but have been guilty of storing in the shop from time to time

I've NEVER used the merchants as storage. No matter if I was foraging close to home or in the far reaches of the roots. I've never done it. I get a full bag, I go home and unload it. Before I go out I make sure my bag is as empty as it can be that way I have as much room as possible.

Unfortunately teleporting and storage are usually the same thing. Most will use a hawker to put mats into so they can then get them when they are home.

My personal opinion, I don't think its right.

When a tp is available, I would not use the hawker as a teleporter. I am talking about the Loria area in Tryker that is almost unreachable without gaining some dp and spawning at the Matis portal. You can port back to the PR, I cant port back to Loria. Using the mercs as storage or as teleportage because one is trying to cut costs on tp's, I dont agree with that. But trying to make life a tadbit more easy for the hardened Tryker harvesters?

Ow, man, please someone agree with me? Havent done this before but thinking about it very hard the last couple of days. It feels too much of an exploit, I know. Just someone say: okee, it is okee when digging in Loria, dear...

Now see it like that, weapon crafter for guild: only forest mats nexus so I dont even wanna imagine when i will have PR on top...
First stage: one weapon to 200, lot of guiltees asking , not alway possible to have enough of certain mats: supreme Oath is constant battle as rarely open on supreme...When u get to 200 obviously u need lot of rooms in packers, so packers = grinding mats + immediat needs of armur/weaponry....
And packers have a problem: they always full of every mat EXCEPT the last one.... (dam got to go harvest this one... now.... )
That was grinding, 3 packers + a mount = bulk 100 packer is hardly enough..

So gringing mats in packers and good mats + old items in appartment for supreme/exc for items to be sold or given.
And more supreme and excellent and oh, still this oath missing.......grrr got to wait next season...
and next season? got the oath at last but problem: appartment full, one go sell all old weapons and armur (too bad, this one was full of memory but NEED SPACE....!!! BULK!!! all full) so sell all to make room...

Next season = spring: spring cleaning: sell/ give away/ destroy, try to push inside this other long awaited stack of supreme and cant fit it in... ;(
back to packer, give/sell NPC only/destroy....need space....why is space such a problem....

So i agree is bad but that is due to the way bulk and number of slots is managed in appartments / packers / GH.

Now concerning merchants: when ppl put mats at 1mil + each (I do that too: 95000%), you obviously know why (those dont want to sell them, fair enough).
But i buy as well myself around 5 to 10 mils of mats a week and it is not ppl storing who disturb me: it is ppl selling 5-7 to 10k per mats.. (basic q180-200 for 5-10k???)
i never buy mats which are over 3k each (grinding mats im talking about) but nowadays it isnt even possible:

4 stacks of shafts at low price (2.5k) is 1 mil already...
More and more players want higher lvl items (weapons, armurs and everything) but less and less mats available due to high selling prices.
And the demand of mats is tremendous as all mats below 3k are sold within the day....

So:
1- as long as the bulk issue isnt improved, i cannot reproach to anyone to use mrchant as storage as long as price is high enough to avoid confusion..
2- Im more worried about more and more ppl marking up prices at 300+% or players selling 14.422k per mat (example) which let me think they suspect someone will hastily buy thinking about the 1.4k bargain...

I presume if crafters had enough bulk, thjey wouldnt store at merchants...

Concerning the hawker, i will not discuss it as I only tried once i nexus, just wanted to store there for a bit and all disappeared lol ;)
I usually TP yrk , go stables, find all packers full (surprise!!) and from now on store at merchants..
Gimme bulk and u got my word I take tham out the same day.
Bulk problem is SO BAD atm that some ppl create guilds solo to have possibility of using GH bulk .
We may soon have to create Alts just to have extra appartment and log/relog/relog to be able to store mats ;((

My respects to you Kostika. You seem to be one of the few honest players. But it seems not all are like you, coz from 2 days ago - since I discovered this trick/exploit - i've found not 1, not 2 but around 20 players with insane prices at mats.

Like I said, I don't mind them storing mats. I did not knew the trick so I did not used it. I'm so used to unload my bag on meks that I could not play in other way. LOL. On the other hand you dont know when a multi-multi-multi millionare player will buy your overpriced mats and leave you naked just in the moment you have about 10 orders of hi-q heavy armors. *grins*

Eh.... It was not that much an "in character" response. "Bytes" does not exist in Atys. NPCs should act as selfish actors in their environment, having imaginary expenses and profits and so on. Their interaction with players should be based on something that is supposed to take place in Atys. Merchant should take his share of dappers for every transaction.

According to your reasoning, you should be given free mektoubs and other NPC items as they do not cost anything but few bytes and electricity in real world.

agreed :o , i builded a 2 person guild to resolve this problem and have a guildhouse to store the mats ....
