Im curious, is this true?
Last night a player in Yrk mantioned part of his/her conversation with a GM. According to this charactor some players have found a way to attack Meks while inside the stables. There did appear to be a lot of dead packers in game last night so the question is - Is this a joke or what?

Joke. Your packers are safe in stables. The dead ones you see at yrk near stables are dead most likely from gas since there are plenty of amber nodes in front of yrk stables. So dont leave your packer near a harvestable node.

Re: Im curious, is this true?
He did appear to be quite angry at the loss of a packer and had raised a ticket. I also know that you can use macros to target specific named entitys without clicking on them so this did seem possible if unlikely.roninpvp wrote:Joke. Your packers are safe in stables. Something about Harvesters i think was the case last night.
They die from gas or booms, some kind of bug it seems.

Re: Im curious, is this true?
I think there may be a misunderstanding here - I believe that some people see the "You have entered x stables" and think their animals are safe, not realising they actually have to put them in the stables, hence when they die the owners get miffed that their 'safe' meks are dead.
I can't think of any reason otherwise that someone would leave a mek right outside a stable and risk it being killed instead of storing it inside.

Re: Im curious, is this true?
I used to store my mek in front of stables. After I realized that there were far too few meks around stables, I did look around a bit and found that meks are supposed to be put in...lazarus wrote:I think there may be a misunderstanding here - I believe that some people see the "You have entered x stables" and think their animals are safe, not realising they actually have to put them in the stables, hence when they die the owners get miffed that their 'safe' meks are dead.
Very easy mistake to make, especially if you are not in guild and playing mostly with other new players.

Re: Im curious, is this true?
Well thanks for the replies, I was tired when this kicked off and the player in question mentioned deliberate killing by other players. I hadn't thought of it as a strait forward misunderstanding
Once again thanks and please excuse my temporary stupidity

Re: Im curious, is this true?
Something that happens is the following...
- A player is careless and his Mekkie dies somewhere like on Clopper hill near Fairhaven.
- The person cries out: how to rez my Mek?
- Another seemingly helpfull person then tells the player about a certain system command that will bring a Mek back to life and right in front of you as well! Now isn't that nice? He does mention it can be used only once (I think most will know what command now...)
- Oh my, tytyty, my mekkies back, let's put it safe in the stables....
What is forgotten is that a dead mek is a dead mek and a countdown begins. 7 days from death, it will disappear, taking all that is stashed on it with it. Even if stabled properly.
Likely this happens and if someone had this happening upon it, try posting a ticket.
Remember that using a command like that is called "cheating" and not only bad form but a violation of the EULA as well.
So think again before taking meks for a ride, they are quite fragile....
