And what up with all the anti american junk going on. Man if it wont for us you all would be speakin japanise or german right now so I think everyone still owes us a big thx.
Your only problem is your supperior navité. Good ideas are supported, bad ideas are shot down. Many of us work in the IT business and have a general ssense of what is possible and what is not.wak313 wrote:My problem (& my post) is that I and many other have posted "IDEAS" to make this game a sucess!!!
But it seems the people who play the most, who love the game the most (I believe the term "Fanboi" can be used??) are the very ones who shoot these ideas down.
You should grow up. I am sure there are quite a few good coders among the players. Just because they don't work for Nevrax doesn't mean they couldn't.wak313 wrote: Think of this everyone - if ANY-ONE of us could actually implement the ideas we suggest, we would be employed by Nevrax... so GROW UP and stop wasting everyones time trying to make out you know better.... cause look whats its got you?
Suggestions are there many. Everyone has his own ideas as what he wants improved. Hence people disagree as what should be done and in what order. Nevrax is only a small company with limited resources. They have to decide for themselfes which suggestions they pick up and which they won't.wak313 wrote: Thanks to your childish "..haha nice idea.. but AS-IF that can happen... do you know what is involved in making that happen..." response to PAYING CUSTOMERS who are making SUGGESTIONS for IMPROVEMENTS, this game is now struggling.....
LOL. No as said above Nevrax has limited resources and ran into several technical difficulties. In such complex structures as an MMO that normal. Technical difficulties have to be resolved, before new features are implemented. At several points I couldn't agree with Nevrax decisions on priorities or even the neccessity to do things as they did (e.g. patch 1 was completely useless) But I am sure they had their reasons.wak313 wrote:Lack of Content, Lack of Features (some promised pre-release) and lack of Customers......

2? So what. If everyone who left had posted here you wouldn't find any useful posts anymore. And thats not only recently but over the last 6 month.wak313 wrote: I have just seen TWO "i'm leaving posts" in the last 24 hours... and we all know that for every one of those, another dozen leave siliently...
Your suggestion would have required a.) stealing of other peoples intellectual property, which in most countries you can get sued for. b.) a complete new technologie c.) is based on a BETA product with no long term experience about its usefulness. d.) the update process at the moment is not a problem really. The problem is that there are no updates.wak313 wrote: I made a suggestion yesterday.... trying to help out the Company and the Customers of what I think would turn this "Game" around into a raging-success....

GREAT FCKIN SUPPORT MATE! - DAZMAN Are you going to cry when this game goes under? - cause if you honestly thought I expected/believed that "Streaming Data updates" could be implemented with a click of your fingers or even at all, into SoR - then you are either a complete MORON or you are just an A-HOLE trying to demonstrate your belief that you possess superior knowledge.
Eitherway, that post of mine last night is a clear demonstration that the very people who will be effected the most if it SoR goes under, would rather spend their time and effort pulling apart everyone elses ideas to make this a great game and community and focusing on everything WRONG with the idea....
LOL you mean everyone should agree to you? Dream on. You just position yourself as you claim others do. That YOU know best what there is to do. Customers only have a very limited influence on the actual product. Or seamingly so, because if you put all customers wishes into a bucket, mix it well and then take the result, nobody will be able to identify his own wishes in there anymore.wak313 wrote: SO WHAT IS IT GOING TO BE?
Will we pull together and work with Nevrax and make this a SUCESS??
or
Will we continue to fight with each other on the forums; wasting Nevrax times (while they sort the real suggestions, from the flamewars); and watch this dream sink before our very eyes?
The amount of SHT that goes on in this Forum, no wonder new arrivals are slow and few between....

We hold more power then they do, customers ALWAYS hold the power....
no customer, no income, no company.....
The amount of SHT that goes on in this Forum, no wonder new arrivals are slow and few between.... and the seaminly barren world of Atys is so, because how anyone could honestly know what the community wants is beyond me; as it seems that people cry and cry for something, then when its implemented, cry and cry its not right and they dont want it anymore....
wasting time, wasting money....
Thank you all (this applies to forum posters no readers only)
No offense wak, but take a deep breath and chill out. Reading dazman's response to your post, he had a different opinion than you, but he was pretty respectful to you even saying that he thought your post was nice and a positive idea. Your response here is to basically call him this name and that name. He disaggreed with you and thought it was not an idea that could be implemented in SoR, so freaking what. You could have easily responded to him via a pm. You just contributed to the dung pile as you so nicely put it by the comments you made to dazman's post.dazman76 wrote:from thread http://ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13494
Well, that is a nice positive post, and indeed a streaming update process would be quite innovative (I think ). However there are pros and cons to all methods, and I'm sure GW will have fun keeping it running smoothly.
However, if you truly believe this is the kind of thing that can be changed in an MMO engine, especially one that is several years into it's development cycle, I'd advise playing two games to sample it It's comparable to taking away the roads, bridges, and anything made of asphalt/tarmac, and expecting all vehicles to work properly afterwards...
Lack of content and features as well as lack of customers has nothing to do with the forum "wnkers" as you so put it. Lack of customers has to do with lack of advertising on Nevrax's part this being their first mmorpg as well as Ryzom not being fully ready at release in September 2004.wak313 wrote:Lack of Content, Lack of Features (some promised pre-release) and lack of Customers......

I think that is a great idea wak. Don't know how streaming update process could be implemented in Ryzom. My one concern and question would be what amount of lag would this cause to the game while its taking place if any lag at all? Still it would be something nice to see in SoR that would add to the game and not take away anything.wak313 wrote:from thread http://ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13494
The biggest and best feature I can see from it, and would love to see in SoR, is the truely Dynamic "quests" including both that the quests are built specifically for your character and situation when you are ready to attempt them, and the way in which the game assists in you completing them.
Also, the other big feature is the Dynamic and intereactive WORLD, where players CAN and DO change the world.
It was mentioned that there are NO patches, rather CONSTANT STREAMING OF DATA to accomadate this dynamic envryonment.

Have to poke my oar in on this... You ever looked at WoW? I have several friends who play a lot at work and As two of them sit on either side of me I've seen a lot of it, and they have taken so many ideas from other games, even from films and books that it's like playing an amalgamation of bits of every other MMOG.figgybee wrote: BTW, quite apart all that, "checking out" their competitors' products "for ideas" would be a very good way for Nevrax to get sued, which would doubtless finish of Ryzom once and for all.
