No, i am the n00b. I would die with your mentioned planwak313 wrote:I must be a complete noob - i use Harmful Rate 4, Harmful Speed 4, Harmful q130 extraction - and i get 9-10 q130 mats solo....

Re: Harvesting Specializations
i dig at gentle speed/harmfull rate/gentle ql
aggressive with carer its all harmfull as in speed 5/rate 5/ and ql without specialisation
with a lvl 100 carer with me i can dig around 27 mats/pull
but kami not like me thats for sure ;D

And people wonder why the kami tolarance in the desert places is so low. LOL.wak313 wrote:I must be a complete noob - i use Harmful Rate 4, Harmful Speed 4, Harmful q130 extraction - and i get 9-10 q130 mats solo....

But..... havent been on for a week, so Kami tolerance must be GREAT now!
hehehe
Re: Harvesting Specializations
I don't think mat spec. and terrain spec. are supposed to stack. I think the thought process is get terrain spec. to get an advantage digging everything in that land, mat spec. to get an advantage digging that mat in any land.keoni wrote:Harmful rate can be used in place of gentle rate, with little or no difference in the the care plans needed, even without material specialization (I do use terrain specializtion, however). This was a trick that Saranda taught me, about forty forage levels ago.
We've seen this type of overlap with tracking so I wouldn't be surprised if the same idea was used here - both methods will have the same ends.
Re: Harvesting Specializations
I don't think so. I always use terrain spec. and I still see a definite improvement if I add mat. spec. as well. I believe that they are cumulative.systemv wrote:I don't think mat spec. and terrain spec. are supposed to stack. OK, here's another unproven theory of mine, based on some observations but with no definitive data...archerke wrote:i dig at gentle speed/harmfull rate/gentle ql

If you go by how fast Kami tolerance degrades in an area as a measure of how much Kami approves, I don't think it matters whether you use all harmful or all gentle stanzas - as long as you use sufficient care planning to keep up with them. I think Kami tolerance drops a tiny bit each time you harvest a source, and a bit more for each explosion/cloud and source depletion...but with adequate CP you can use aggressive stanzas all you want and it will all be copacetic with the cute little Kamis.

Re: Harvesting Specializations
I think Kami tolerance in the desert is low, mostly because homins travel from around the world to dig there... and, true, some don't use adequate CP. Kind of like tourists who travel to a beautiful distant land...and then throw their trash out the tour bus windowmboeing wrote:And people wonder why the kami tolarance in the desert places is so low. Re: Harvesting Specializations
Kami tolerance is directly related to the number of mats extracted and the aggresiveness of the action used in the area.
(to the best on my experience)
Lots of small quantity diggers have the same effect on tolerance a few power diggers.
Using care plans doesn't raise or slow the fall of the tolerance. I always dig with a carer and use the most aggressive plan I own (poor Kami). If I use the same plan in an area much lower than my level (eg fount I seem to have a greater effect, however this could be due to materail concentration [spots are closer together]) then in the region more suited to my harvest level.
Extracting 25x3 (75) per propect at one or two prospects a spot. I can see the tolerance actually drop. (A5,A6,ql220 with rate boost from Terrain prospecting spec) Testing when no other digger was in the region.
Use of gentle plans etc are basical reducing the mats over time, thus slowing the tolerance drop.
Mat Spec and Terrain Extraction Spec reduce the aggressivenes of different parts of the extraction plan so are therefore accumulative, if memory serves me well they do not overlap. There reduce the caring need as well as other effects.

Re: Harvesting Specializations
Well, I use ALL gentle (all lev 3) and terrain spec (desert), q120 and i get 9 mats/harvest solo and 11 with careplanner. Solo i need about 3 careplan actions to get all the mats without problems.I must be a complete noob - i use Harmful Rate 4, Harmful Speed 4, Harmful q130 extraction - and i get 9-10 q130 mats solo....
If I use harmfull speed 4 i can rise to 13 mats/harvest but I need a careplanner. (and I burn more than 1750 focus)
That which does not kill me makes me stronger.
