Order of the Blue Snake

What is the Order of the Blue Snake (OBS for short)?

Some time ago, one of my officers had made a joke about the "Order of the Blue Snake" during one of my treks. Homins on the compass form a blue "snake" during treks as they get strung out in a line. The OBS in my signature has been around for a while as my first step at establishing the organization.

So what is this organization, the OBS?

There will always be a need for treks in Atys. There's always new eager faces ready to go out and explore the world hence the reason a few of us run treks pretty commonly. However sometimes planning isn't coordinated, treks overlap, or there are 2 treks back to back and then a long period with no movement at all. This organization is founded as a council of trek leaders (and also RAID leaders), people who can lead a mass of players and get the job done!

Who all can join the OBS?

I think this question is best stated "who all is already a member?". If you have ever successfully lead a large multiparty group from one region to another, you pretty much can call yourself a trek leader and a member of the Order of the Blue Snake. From what I have seen from various OBS members, the following traits pretty much go hand in hand: Scout/Ranger, Trek Leadership, RAID Leadership, and Event organization skills.

Why the need for this organization?

This organization is set up so that trek and RAID leaders can come together, share experiences and knowledge, tips and tricks, and provide more organized large party movements. This, after all, is one of the features of Ryzom: Mass combat (RAIDs). This can also give us a good contact list of people who have the leadership it takes to move people around, and complete objectives (for RAIDs).

This is just the first step at establishing the OBS...so I'll start off with a mini-introduction:

Greetings homins, my name is Gfunk (from Windermeer). I am guild leader of VeniVidiVici and a member of the Order of the Blue Snake. I have helped organize and move countless treks from region to region from party sizes of 20 to 150. I am also experienced in leading large groups of people during crisis events such as RAIDs. Anyone may contact any of the trek leaders to request a trek. Anyone may contact a trek leader for information about an upcoming trek. Trek leaders will work with each other to help share leadership for world circuit treks.

Trek helpers are volunteers who the trek leaders can call upon for help with treks. Trek helpers should be able to lead teams. This is an official list of helpers who trek leaders can feel free to contact.

Howdy all Mai is helping out as an Order of the Blue Snake, as a trek leader, primary tank, and/or anchor tank. I can take people most anywhere without a DP, so long as they have patience and are willing to follow some rules (Mai's treks usually don't get bigger than 3-teams, which is mostly how I like it. Bigger treks are usually best handled by one of the Elders, Gfunk).
