Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
Re: Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
Problem is not getting into the border areas like the lagoon, The problem is with prospecting and then harvesting that area. After you cross into that area from the avendale portal there are several agro mobs of level 70 and above. This in itself wouldn't be a problem if they weren't in large groups. Imagine getting jumped by a group of 10 level 70s when you only have 900 hps... Very hard to prospect/harvest.
Re: Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
Dont forget that most prime harvesting spots are under aggro mob spawns
Re: Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
My bretherin trykers are correct.
The land has been cursed, and this must be a test from Jena! We are trudging along as best we know, and are looking for a shining end to this dark tunnel. We are lost in this darkness, Jena. Hear us and come to our aid, so we can portect our race from those who would overrun us. Was it not bad enough that the Kittins overran us and forced us to transport away in our distant past? We are true to you Jena, and will await you're guidance and help. Alas, it has been too much of a strain on some, who have given up their tryker souls and turned to other races as a way out of their trouble, thus lowering the strength of our collective tryker race. We seek you in this Jena, and hope this will strengthen our bonds and make us into more reverant followers of you!
But we pray for quickness, Jena... for I fear we may be at a sore loss for many weeks to come already... and the more time we struggle through this trial... the more we slip behind others and the Kittin. I pray they don't see our weekness and stike enmasse.
Hear our Prays, Jena!

Re: Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
I'm sure Jena will hear our pleas and aid us. In fact, the rumor is that Tryker crafters of lvl 50 or more will receive a boon of 10000 general craft materials QL50 (much like we started with if we took crafting action pack at character start) in order to help us advance slighty and to help compensate for the barreness of our lakeland home.
Of course it's a rumor I just started here, but would make sense! Yessah!

The mobs in the borderlands are higher than 70 -- we can kill level 70 mobs. The mobs that we'd have to deal with range from 200-250+, and at 68 I still get one rounded in Loria.

Yes, this sounds like what someone would say, if they were another race and comparing their problem to Trykers. In order to get a q100-capped node, a player must brave monsters of level 50-100... just as in Liberty Lake, nodes cap at q50, and they must brave 1-50 level mobs. Now, Dew Drops has nodes that cap at 100, and has mobs from 50-100... yet, all nodes are noncraftable. Resting Waters has nodes that cap at 150, and mobs range from 100-150... however, all nodes are noncraftable. Out in the borderlands, nodes cap at 200, or 250, and mobs range from 150-250... but they are craftable.
So basically, we should be getting our crafting mats in Dew Drops, and Resting Waters... Risk vs Reward. if we go to the Borderlands, braving level 200 mobs, just to get q100 mats... Risks outweigh rewards by such a rediculous amount that it's not worth it- especially when we know that the only reason we'd have to is due to a design flaw, and other races have q100 craftable mats in zones with mobs comparable to the mobs in Dew Drops.
Re: Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
I don't think we're going to be able to do it at all. At least we'll never be capable of fighting those mobs. It's looking to me like our melee/caster classes won't be able to advance much farther EXP-wise. Being not only underlevelled, but with low level gear, the only way we're going to get those mats is for all of us to suffer enough repeated deaths to get enough to craft some mid-level items, so that we can hope to advance enough to be able tank and damage these mobs.
Not to mention our crafters can't level. Even with some mats in hand, it would be an obscene amount of time and death penalties to get our crafters leveled high enough to make gear so the rest of us can level...
IMO, all we can do is continually stress to the devs how seriously crippled a large chunk of paying customers are.

Re: Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
it's not that bad really. i'm a tryker and at level 60 i started going in loria, at first it was hard but now that i've gotten the north respawn (just go through the portal and back, dont bother going in any further cause there is a 5m wide pass with a couple huge torbaks, yes we are pretty much stuck to tryker territory untill we can kill huge torbaks) you can easily access the area north of lake superior. I hope this is just a temporary solution but the way it is atm i dont have much problems getting high ql stuff
Of course it is always easier to complain then to sneak, search for safe spots, etc.. Which is actually a big part of harvesting, so get used to dying alot

Re: Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
1. not a harvestor
2. on my second day I was were you speak
3. nodes for tryker to choose from q50.....q200 where are the rest?
4. If you consider pointing out an imbalance complaining, I wonder what it would take for you to complain. Now as for attacking a majority of people pointing out a problem, quite unwise. You're likely to start a riot.

Re: Tryker lacking greater than q50 harvestable materials.
I don't harvest, but I was under the impression that the nodes were out in open areas where herds spawn, and that it wouldn't be possible to harvest for long at all before being killed. You're able to get mats from there and level harvesting?
EDIT: And yes, of course I've been to Loria. You can get to the portals OK too, it's just a matter of being able to survive aggro long enough to get anything accomplished (being seen is guaranteed death).
