Re: First impressions after merge
The Matisian Border Guard post just north of Tower Bridge looked like a bustling frontier town the first time I visited it after the merger, there must have been a dozen people there when i showed up to get my packers.
Also, someone called for a rez in region and I saw 3 people jump up and start running north. That is quality.

I crashed to desktop 3 times - setting my graphics settings lower after each time. *sigh* Ping and download were higher; there is still a lot of stop and go action like an old timey film with the music off, the sounds down and the graphics set to low. I'm on a home network of 5 computers and my daughter was surfing while I was playing and on Teamspeak on a 3rd computer so there's a problem there - no $$$$ for each of us to have our own direct feed. Just sad I can't see all of this wonderful world.
My game computer is a ABS mayhem 2 laptop with the Raedon 9700 128m graphics card http://www.buyabs.com/app/Series.asp?familyno=25&series=76. Proof I guess that you can have decent gear but if the feed is through a very small straw you ain't got nuthin'.

Re: First impressions after merge
Well, I must say I'm happy about this merge. I've been playing on Windermeer for the last two months or so and it was getting dull with the low population... I got on at a REALLY early time this morning(I live in south-central USA) and ran into plenty of people in areas that usually are quite dead whenever I get on, and I get on at random times I'll tell ya.
Anyway... I'm extatic! I'm hoping to find a few more people willing to join the AEGIS Knights(guild started by myself and two friends, I'm leader because I won the duel). With outposts soon to arrive I'd like to make our guild something worthwhile.
Umm.. yea, shameless guild plugging there... sorry.

Re: First impressions after merge
I only logged on for a bit but saw more people that usual. Had a lot of eyes looking at me though lol.
So far looks good.

Re: First impressions after merge
On the downside, my ping has doubled since the merge.. Makes radar dancing considerably more difficult, and as a result, I've had a lot more DP than usual..
But on the up side, there are more people, and I'm selling mats far faster than I ever did on Windy.. I almost can't keep up now.

Re: First impressions after merge
Yesterday was my first real play time since before the merger, and I was amazed. Lag is not an issue, only spikes up near populated centers, and that was a major worry. But best of all, there were PEOPLE to play with! I play at odd hours, and the server was lively at 5am, EST USA. I've been a level 152 mage for about 2 weeks now, due to not being able to find groups to run with during the times I generally play. Last night, logged in, ran around rezzing for a while, and then ported to Thesos, to dig up some fun, if possible. Ran into another Zorai (Wow, another Zorai!), and we ran about a bit, finding things to kill, and eventually ended up in the Grove of Confusion, dieing a lot, but having fun. We stayed near the Kami port there, and people would trickle up, join in for a while, and meander on, as they got rid of dp or ran out of play time, or whatever. But we had a blast! Everyone was polite, friendly, and helpful. We had a lot of fun with the language thing, as we are two cultures seperated by a common language, and enjoyed ourselves fully. Xipe, Vivy, Lewy, Minininja, and Kristel, thank you for making my first team in EE a fun one.
With this merger, I have high hopes. Things are looking good, working good, and population is up. I'm hoping we can talk alot of our American friends who have left the game out of boredom into coming back and trying again. I think that our EE "mates" will be all that they were expecting before, and then some. The game has a true living atmosphere again, and the comraderies are doing nothing but building and building. I away the future eagerly.
