Newbie question

Post by dan77 »

All guides state that you get to choose from fighting, magic, foresting and crafting packages, when you create your character.

I did not get such a choice upon creating my chaacter. Has the choice been removed?

There are 3 sliders under the Actions section.

Each slide has 4 different states Fight, Magic, Harvest & craft

Set the sliders to anyone of the 4 states .... order is not important.

At the bottom of the screen is a summary of the skills you will be given when you are born.

You can be a 3xFighter or 3xCrafter or any combination!

Don't worry to much about what you pick, as the trainers will allow you to by starter packs for other skill areas.

Ryzom is very forgiving..... its VERY hard to mess up a character. Wrong choices only slow progression slightly, and I mean slightly.

50 points of Sp is a lot when you are starting out and buying everything you need to develop your skills. Later on in life 50 Sp doesn't seem a lot.

Have 243 SP in magic an nothing to buy :D

My advice: Start with melee, magic and forage. First you do ist digging and put the first 5 lvl-ups in buying crafting. From there do what pleases you...

Actually I'd recommend getting magic, craft and forage. You get the default melee attack anyway. All you need to do is dig up and craft some stuff to sell and then buy yourself a weapon, or 2. You can lvl melee without having to spend 50SP buying a starter.
