I know that there is a way to raise all civs fame equally, and also a way to raise both kami and karavan fames without affecting the other.

It was a mater of principle, it didn't seem right to pick faction then have to fudge that choice in order to take part in the full encyclopedia. Hopefully this sort of thing will be worked out along with strange tribe fame issues.

Actually, this makes perfect sense to me. There will be knowledge that is specific to a given faction. It you're unwilling to consort with that faction, then you can't learn their secrets. As long as the pro-kami/pro-karavan rewards are balanced, I see no reason that why people should be able to learn everything in the encyclopedia.

Ah id best be clear i mean any album outside of the faction related ones. I certainly aint expecting to be able to complete every rite/album.

eg Crafting Album: to complete that you have to work for both sides as the rites and pre reqs you complete for each race award the related faction fame too.


The faction specific albums will have to give some pretty big rewards to counter the loss off all none faction albums.

Quick question: How can you complete rites without fame alterations? I for one don't think that is possible (although the post above about getting one faction fame without hurting the other suggests you can)... I mean, i harvest lakes, have knowledge of where the lake forage rite is, BUT its a Karavan npc handing it, and since im all out Kami i'm not very encouraged to do it.

let me explain a litle better, this is not "a" karavan npc, but a karavan related tribe npc. I know for sure (or so it seems) i will get karavan fame while doing it. Is there any way around this, besides lowering kami fame while doing the rites then push it up again?

No way around it you have to take the fame change this what ive been trying to get at in this thread.

Edit you can work up your race fame without taking a faction change by working for certain tribes etc but when it comes to the actual pre reqs and rite mission theres no way around it. Eaither you ditch your principles or miss out on the rite and hence the album.

This is going to have to change if there talking about making faction choice a one off decision.

Yes, race fame is possible to rise with whatever faction.. (as a kami tryker i know that kinda well), but there was mention on this thread saying that kami or karavan fame can be raised without hurting the other... :S

Almost time to leave work so i guess ill try raising my karavan fame by doing a few corsair missions

I think this is a problem you have created for yourself.

If you choose to roleplay an extremist factional bigot (exaggeration for effect ;D ), that refuses to even consider defiling themselves by breathing air that has been in contact with the evil opposing faction etc etc.., then of course you are going to miss out on options.
the question becomes.. are you going to accept the penalty of your role-playing choice, or compromise your principles, or just whinge and moan a lot

People who are aligned to the opposite faction will have just as much trouble as you do, and those who walk the path of reason and balance (guess which side I'm on =) ) will benefit from it.

Right now there is no real benefit to roleplaying or to picking a side (hence why I am spending much more time in EQ2, than here). I am hoping with the new Kami and Karavan content upcoming that will change.
