Hi,
thougth to open a subthread for this.
Can now confirm a running SoR on Debian Sarge kernel 2.6.7 K7 build
with latest ATi drivers for xfree (no x.org yet) and latest cedega
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON 9600 XT Generic
OpenGL version string: 1.3.4893 (X4.3.0-8.10.19)
Relevant hardware is
AMD 2400+, 1024 MByte RAM, Soundblaster 5.1, Radeon 9600XT
In fullscreen i can not run the game. "unable to open display:0". Fine with me, i play windowed on windows too.
Windowed the game runs fine with one exeption: i get cluttered interface windows.
This happens when moving around with the char or sometimes a Yber crosses the screen . As soon as i stop running the cluttered windows get refreshed.
When configuring "DisableDirectInput = 1" i can not longer change view with mouse. This is a minor problem, i can switch it of and use the numpad-/ for emotes. This works well too.
Any hints about my cluttered windows ? It is very ugly and destroys the whole atmosphere. Ugly enough to stick with Windows if there is no solution.

whats you DISPLAY envioroment var set to ?
try setting it:
export DISPLAY=localhost:0
it could also be an issue with permissions, not sure hove ati does it, but there might be some permission problem to a device file, you could try running as root, def not recomended for regular use tough.
the garbled win i would put donw on ATI drivers, it semes that ati drivers have mayor issues wit cedega.

Dont worry about those.

That is a problem with SoR and ATI cards I am afraid.
I had the same problems in Windows when running OpenGL (using Direct3D in win was no problem). And in Linux (where OpenGL has to be used).
I now have an Nvidiabased card and everything works flawlessly.
I can tell you that ATI OpenGL support works under Linux since ive played Doom3 under Linux without any problems.
I have also talked to a GM about this matter for a few months ago so the devs are aware about this little "bug".
some small specs :
Gentoo Linux
kernel 2.6.11.5
Xorg 6.8.2
Latest nvidida drivers.

I thought so. I know openGL works fine. I played unreal1 + addon, wolfenstein and doom3 on cedega.
I want to stick with my Ati. No need to invest more dappers there. To be really true: I care for Linux as less as for Windows I run a FreeBSD Server (which is my true love ) in the cellar and can live very well with a putty, winscp, firefox and ryzom on winXP.

Hmm i had the same Problem, but after updating the ATI Drivers it worked. I really dont know if i have done anything else. As the Problem was under Windows too, when using opengl, the only thing i could do was waiting for a new Driver.

I have the latest ATi drivers installed. Could you say something about your cedeca config ? I used the settings mentioned in the Linux-HOWTO thread.
Any changes made to XF86Config ?
