Dear SoR players,
We posted my letter announcing the beginning of our reorganisation on Tuesday. And over the last two days, I have observed some reactions among the community that basically tell me that some of you were angry and others worried. There is nothing wrong with these reactions, except that there are some things I read, that I simply can't ignore because they are not true.
First, I'd like to make one thing extremely clear : we are reorganising a lot of things around here because we don't have a choice. And Nevrax will soon be reorganised too, it is not just about Themis, MDO and Jolt, or the servers infrastructure. It is a general reorganisation.
Then, I have to tell you that it hurts a lot to read that some of you can think that we just don't care. I personally bear the responsibility of that sort of painful, yet necessary, kind of decisions I just had to make. Here at Nevrax, we personally know the people in the teams you have been in contact with. We trusted them with our game, and with our community too. We shared a lot of efforts and pain with them, and also great moments of joy during events, successful patches, or simple moments when we could meet. I like the Themis and MDO team members very much, and I have a lot of respect for their work, and pride in their proven passion. It was all the more difficult for me to begin the reorganisation, but reality remains : we don't have the right number of registered players to support the configuration we have had until now. And even if we made important financial efforts to support our partners over the past months, it is no longer possible for Nevrax. Adaptation has become necessary. We discussed the reorganisation with all the partners over several weeks. and each had the opportunity to make their proposals. But ultimately I had to make the decision looking at what is in the best interest for SoR.
My position therefore remains the same as it ever was for over the past 5 years : I will do what it takes to push SoR forward. I have a lot of things yet to release for you, and I am here to make sure that it happens even if it is not easy (mostly when it is not easy I should say). The people we don't have a choice but to let go today, helped us a lot in helping you. It made it all the more difficult for me to let them go. But now, it is done.
I also see some people wondering about the future. From now on, the French, English and German CM/CS/GM/EM will be performed by Jolt alone. We have agreed that an equivalent level of service will be delivered to you. And I trust them to do so.
Regarding Nevrax and SoR itself, the reorganisation will begin shortly, but the development continues (we are cleaning the game right now), the extension will arrive this year (we will announce it at this years E3), and we are still working on better tools for the events.
All in all, I simply can not answer each and every question you post. But rest assured that I am aware of most of them, and that despite our heart aches, we remain dedicated to SoR and focussed on its future. Today, I felt that I had to share a little more with you to let you know that we feel the same sadness that some of you do. That doesn't change our ambition and our will to deliver the right SoR experience. It makes it even stronger.
D.
PS : most of the comments that I am reacting to came from the French community, but since I am addressing matters that affect everyone, and not just the French community, I am writing in English.
Warten wir ab, was uns weiter erwartet.
