Question:
How does getting a higher level affect the amount of damage you can do?
I ask because at certain levels you get extra stanza options - cold 4 for example, however I dont get an upgrade each level. Does my ability with cold4 increase with level though and cold5 simply opens the next window?
eg cold4 == 100-150damage
cold5 == 150-200damage?
With actual damage you can do varying depending on your level within the stanza break?
I'm curious, I only really started thinking about it yesterday and I realise I've no idea what the benefits of the intermediate levels are.
Ideas?

Re: Levelling and Stanzas
As far as I'm aware (and I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong
), the amount of spell damage doesn't increase with your levels. If a spell says it does XXX dmg, that's how much it does. That doesn't increase with your lvl, it CAN be increased by your amps though.
However, your ability to actually hit something should get better with your lvl. So if you continue to attack the same lvl of mob as when you first get cold 4, you will stand a better chnace of hitting it as your lvl increases.
Other factors can affct the actual damage you do, the amount listed in the spell description is the maximum (without amp boosts) that the spell will do. Mob resistances/protection may reduce that.

Re: Levelling and Stanzas
you get the next spell every 20 lvls
the dmg of the spell goes up according to the spell not your level
the chance of hitting improves with your level
at lvl 100 you get double spell which means you can do approx 1000dmg (reduced for resists)
at lvl 125 you dont care any more as you get racial spells which generally mean you kill most mobs 50 above you in 5-6 spells

after 125 life gets very easy for a nuker..........you can ever walk around atys pretty easily. just make sure you got full HP jewels on as the drain from the spells will probably wipe you out.
I made 125 on sunday and by tuesday I'm 150

Re: Levelling and Stanzas
another tip..........get at least melee lvl 120 just for the HP, the spells cst an absolute fortune, oh and get a godd diggin crafting lvl, the amps cost a fortune and make a hell of a difference nowfiltern wrote:Spent most of yesterterday wasting Stingas, and ended up far sout in Resting Water with Gillgamesh haveing fun looting Cutes. Re: Levelling and Stanzas
I started of as melee in january, im lvl 118. 2k hp with jewels and light armor is enough atm.
About the digging, I think my quartering will be faster dappers than my crafting
And I tend to get amps from higher magicans atm. Later my Guild will have better crafters too it seems.
I dont know in wich direction it will take me later, but I am 108 in heal, 118 in melee and elemental. Maybe affliction needs some lvls too soon, I really see the use of Stun!

Re: Levelling and Stanzas
If you really want to make you elem levels fly up, first invest some time as a healer!
You make alot of friends as a healer.
You can build up you sap in advance.
You have more 'no cost' credits.
Healers seem to have less trouble getting amps or an amp supplier
Being able to healer you healer fast, when leveling elem reduces the down time to almost zero.
You get to know where and what you can kill, this information is worth hours of experimentation.
Competely agree about the melee and harvest. HP credits are the 'mutts nutts' and its easier to find a healer of HP then it is to find a healer of Sap
I personally can't level elem for more than an hour, as I find it too repeative and don't forget that I am a harvesters, so that kinda says something.
I found the 85-101 zone a killer progression felt really slow.
But as Jacko says, once you have double spells its plain sailing. I have found after lvl 125, I can adventure in almost every Zone. I trust my healer completely and together we have defeated many creatures that would normally cause me to hide

Re: Levelling and Stanzas
Also, lvl 235+ in PR harvesting helps a lot in getting best amps when you progress up in ele
lol
Having a such friend is almost as good. Or better.
